Many people are not aware that almost 2 million pets are stolen annually in the United States alone\, so the threat is very real. \nHOW YOU CAN HELP KEEP YOUR PETS SAFE \n\nKeep your pets indoors\, especially when you’re not home. Avoid leaving them unsupervised in your yard\, as it only takes a moment for thieves to take your cherished companions.\nAlways use a leash when walking your pet\, and refrain from allowing them to roam freely in your neighborhood.\nNever leave your pet unattended in a vehicle.\nEnsure your pets are properly identified with a collar\, tag\, and microchip.\nMake sure your pets are spayed or neutered\, as fixed animals are less likely to stray from home.\nKeep recent photos and written descriptions of your pets readily available\, along with up-to-date records and licenses for all of them.\nStay vigilant about unfamiliar individuals in your area and report any unusual occurrences\, such as suspicious activities or an increase in missing pets\, to local authorities and animal control.\n\n#BrooklineLabs #PetTheftAwarenessDay #ProtectYourPets
