🚗 Bingo Takes a Ferry Ride – and Steals More Hearts!Black Labrador Mix

It’s hard to believe Bingo is still available—but until his forever family finds him, this lovable Lab continues to live life to the fullest with his foster family.

This past weekend, Bingo went on a big adventure with Foster Mom, Foster Dad, and his foster sister Melissa (Freda is enjoying a mini vacation with a family friend). They packed into the car and headed for the ferry—yes, a car ferry!—on a trip to Delaware to visit friends.

🌊 New Experiences, Same Sweet Boy

Bingo rode wonderfully in the car with Melissa and took the whole ferry experience in stride. He explored the ferry, met lots of people and children, and soaked up the attention like a pro. This boy really shines in public—he’s polite, friendly, and gentle with everyone he meets.

Once off the ferry, they took a short drive to a friend’s house. That’s when Bingo reminded everyone that he’s part athlete, part goofball, and part frog hunter.

🐸 Fenced Yard Required (And Here’s Why!)

The friends’ yard was small, grassy, and enclosed by a 4-foot fence—which Bingo could see through. As he zoomed joyfully around the yard, he spotted frogs… and chased them with laser focus. Then, when FD stepped outside the gate to grab something from the car, Bingo got so excited he took a running leap at the fence. Thankfully, he changed his mind mid-air and didn’t go through with it—but it made something clear:Black Labrador Mix

➡️ Bingo will require a fully fenced yard—at least 5 feet tall—in his forever home. He’s an athletic young Lab with a strong prey drive and a love of movement. A solid fence will keep him safe and allow him to enjoy his zoomies and critter-chasing safely.

💛 Why Hasn’t He Been Adopted Yet?

That’s the question FM and FD’s friends kept asking. With three dog-loving couples at the house today, Bingo got rave reviews. Everyone agreed—he’s a wonderful dog with so much love to give.

  • Bingo is also growing and learning every day. He’s:
  • Much less mouthy and jumpy when FM and FD come home
  • Learning to calm himself when FM turns her back to him
  • Fully housebroken, neutered, and up to date on vet care
  • Sweet, silly, smart—and just waiting for someone to say “you’re home.”

His foster family adores him, but they know he deserves more than a temporary place—he deserves a home where he can feel safe, secure, and loved forever.

Could that be with you?

Stay tuned for more updates—or better yet, apply to adopt Bingo today and start your own adventure with this incredible boy. 🐾

Two Weeks In: Healing, Snuggling, and Still Learning

It’s hard to believe, but it’s already been two weeks since Bingo arrived in foster care, and what a journey it’s been so far!

Last week, Bingo was neutered and we’re happy to report that he’s healing beautifully. He has one more week of restricted activity per the vet’s orders, which is tough for a young Lab with plenty of energy. To keep him occupied, we’ve been giving him chew bones, puzzle games, and short walks. He’s been a trooper, but he definitely misses playing “bitey face” with Melissa!Black Labrador Mix

When the day winds down, Bingo becomes a certified snuggle bug.

He now sleeps in bed with Foster Mom and Melissa, curled up close and always wanting to be touching someone. He truly loves his people and finds comfort in closeness. Every morning, he’s up when Foster Mom gets up around 6 a.m., and he’s ready to wrestle Melissa right away. But FM knows how to redirect that energy with the magical phrase: “Do you want to go for a walk?”

The morning routine is now well established: harnesses on, a 15-minute potty walk, and then breakfast. Bingo eats separately using a slow feeder because he eats quickly and still doesn’t fully trust that meals will always be there. He’ll even try to sneak the other dogs’ food if given the chance, so structure is key. That said, he’s learning! He waits on the front deck and will sit politely for his bowl.

During the day, Bingo alternates between chewing bones and napping next to Foster Mom’s desk. Black Labrador MixHe’ll often lie near Freda, enjoying the company of his calm senior foster sister. He walks nicely with a harness and loves to greet people on walks. He’s curious about other dogs too, but with three pups on leash, FM keeps those meetings limited to dogs we know and trust.

Bingo is still very much a puppy at heart and will need an adopter who’s committed to continued training. He already knows “leave it,” “sit,” and “paw”, and he’s eager to learn more. He does get mouthy when excited, especially when greeting FM or FD, but he responds well to redirection and calming touch.

Crate time isn’t his favorite, but if he has a treat-filled puzzle, he will settle. He’s been successfully left crated while the resident dogs are loose for up to five hours with no issues.

This boy is making steady progress every day. He’s affectionate, curious, and full of potential. With the right structure and continued guidance, Bingo will make an amazing companion. He’ll be ready to find his forever home very soon, and some lucky family is going to hit the jackpot.Black Labrador Mix

Stay tuned!

Snip Snip, Let the Healing Begin!

Big day for Bingo!

Today was neuter day, and this sweet boy handled it like a champ. The morning started with an early walk—no breakfast (sorry, buddy!)—and then a drive to the vet. Bingo was a bit anxious and let out some whiny barks along the way, but who can blame him? New places, unfamiliar smells, and no food? A guy’s allowed to have some feelings.Black Labrador Mix

At the vet, Bingo weighed in at 51.5 lbs.—he’s gained 4.5 pounds since arriving in foster! He’s still a little skinny, but he’s definitely heading in the right direction. His bloodwork came back great, and his 4DX test was negative, which is all good news. Surgery went smoothly, and by 3 p.m., Bingo was back home and resting.

Earlier this week, we also got word that Bingo tested positive for Giardia, a pesky but treatable parasite. He’ll begin a round of Panacur on Monday, and we’re hopeful that will clear things up quickly.

Bingo will now be taking it easy for the next 10–14 days to heal. That means no roughhousing, which might be tough—he and resident dog Melissa have been having a blast playing together these past few days. But for now, it’s leash walks, crate rest, and lots of calm encouragement.

Foster Mom has also noticed Bingo starting to get a bit mouthy—nothing aggressive, just classic young Lab behavior. So, it’s time to focus on training with firm “no”s, redirection, and reinforcing polite manners. He’s smart and eager to please, so we’re confident he’ll catch on quickly.

This boy has come so far already. He’s affectionate, playful, full of potential, and getting closer every day to being ready for his forever home.Black Labrador Mix

Stay tuned for a post-surgery recovery update and more on this lovable guy’s journey!

Settling In, Staying Cool & Still Learning

Bingo is doing well as he continues to adjust to life in his foster home. He’s soaking up love, structure, and the daily routines that come with being a dog in a caring home, something we’re not sure he’s ever truly experienced before.

Day 4 kicked off bright and early with a walk, breakfast, and then a 1-mile jog with Foster Mom and resident dog Melissa. Bingo has a lot of puppy energy, and this extra exercise really helps him focus and settle for the rest of the day.

With temps soaring, the rest of the day was a lazy one. Bingo found all the cool spots in the house and rotated through them for prime nap-time real estate. He’s quickly learning the art of relaxation, something he probably didn’t get much of in the shelter.

That said, not everything is going perfectly, and that’s okay! Bingo is still struggling with house training. Despite long walks (and lots of outdoor peeing), he sometimes still has accidents indoors. Foster Mom has ordered belly bands, which arrive today and will hopefully help. This sweet boy is trying; he just needs a little extra help.

Bingo continues to be a total lovebug. He’s happiest when he’s near people and will soak up pets and affection from anyone willing to give it. He’s yet to get up on the furniture, and we’re not encouraging it since we don’t know what his forever family’s preferences will be.

This morning brought a loud thunderstorm, and we’re happy to report that Bingo handled it like a champ! No fear, no anxiety, he was perfectly content and even went for a walk once the rain let up.

Our next update will come later this week after Bingo’s vet appointment and neuter, scheduled for July 3rd. We’re hopeful all goes smoothly and that this brings him one step closer to finding his forever home.

Stay tuned—this happy, affectionate boy is just getting started.

Day 3: Running Buddies, Firehouse Friends & Big News!

Hey everyone, it’s Bingo again—reporting in from the beach house!

Day 3 started with something totally new for me: a run! That’s right, Foster Mom laced up her sneakers, and I hit the road with my foster sister Melissa for a 1-mile jog. At first, I was like, “Wait… why are we going this fast? Are we chasing something?!” But after a minute or two, I got the hang of it and found my groove. Sure, there was some zigging and zagging (so many smells, so little time!), but overall, Foster Mom said I did really well. She said I might just make a great running buddy for the right person.

Later in the morning, it was time for another walk—this time, the whole pack came along: me, Melissa, and Freda. We stopped by the boat ramp and met some kind humans who handed out treats (yes, please!), and then we made our way to the Firehouse, where the firefighters came out to meet us. And guess what? They LOVED me! They gave me pets, treats, and lots of kind words. One of them even said, “Some family is going to be really lucky to have you.” 🐾 I think so too.Black Labrador Mix

Oh—and we got some big news today: I have my vet appointment scheduled for July 3rd! I’ll be neutered and given a good check-up, so I’ll be all set to look for my forever family. Foster Mom says this is a big step toward my fresh start, and I’m ready.

As for me, I’m still soaking up all the love, structure, and new experiences. I’ve got a lot of energy, but I also love people so much—especially the ones who stop to say hi. I’m starting to understand that not only is life outside the shelter fun… it’s full of people who see me for the good boy I am.

That’s all for now. Tomorrow’s another adventure—I can feel

Day 2: New Places, New Faces, and a Whole Lot to Learn

Hi friends, it’s me—Bingo! Day 2 in my foster home, and let me tell you… there is so much to take in!

We kicked off the day with a big adventure—a four-mile walk with my foster sister Melissa! Foster Mom said I needed to get some of this puppy energy out, and she was right. And guess what? I walked great! I was focused, happy, and really enjoying the rhythm of the walk. Melissa showed me how it’s done, and I did my best to keep up like a big boy. Foster Mom was so proud of me!

After our walk, I was definitely more relaxed and ready to keep learning about this whole “living in a house” thing. I’m discovering something called “structure,” which means I have set times for going out, quiet time in my crate, meals, walks, and playtime. Honestly, I think it helps me. There’s a lot going on, and knowing what to expect makes me feel safe.

I’m still figuring out the house rules. Apparently, “humping everyone and everything” is not the best way to make new friends. Who knew? Melissa and Freda are helping teach me the ropes. They’re not afraid to tell me when I’m being too much, especially Melissa. She’s got a serious side, and I respect that.Black Labrador Mix

Foster mom worked all day, so I hung out on the floor next to her and I got a few more chances to walk and explore. I’m still learning not to pull on the leash when something exciting catches my nose, but I’m trying hard, and Foster Mom notices.

Tonight we’re going to try that calming music again at bedtime. I think I’m getting better at winding down. It helps to hear Foster Mom say I’m a good boy. I really want to be.Black Labrador Mix

That’s it for now, tomorrow’s a new day. I hear there might be toys involved. I’m ready!

Meet Bingo: A Lucky Boy With a New Leash on Life

Say hello to Bingo! This happy, handsome one-year-old Lab has had quite the journey, but his luck is finally starting to turn.

Bingo first landed in a shelter after being found as a stray, but he was reclaimed by his owner. Unfortunately, a few months later, he was found wandering again, and this time, no one came to get him. Thankfully, someone did: Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue stepped in just in time to bring Bingo to safety.

After spending 3½ long weeks in a crowded shelter with no walks and no real outlet for his energy, Bingo was more than ready for his freedom ride. And wow, did he make the most of it! His first stop was a local park, where he took in all the sights, sounds, and smells of the great outdoors. Flowers! Grass! Trees! People!Black Labrador Mix It was like a whole new world had opened up, and Bingo couldn’t have been happier to “stop and smell the roses” literally. He soaked up attention from everyone who passed by, gently nudging for pets and offering tail wags and kisses in return.

Soon after, Bingo met his foster mom and climbed into her car for a two-hour drive to the beach house. Though a bit anxious at first, he sweetly rested his head on her arm and gave gentle kisses before curling up for a nap, clearly trusting that better days were ahead.

When they arrived, Bingo was treated to a nice long walk to stretch his legs and take care of business. Back at the house, he was introduced to resident dogs Melissa and Freda, who greeted him from behind a baby gate with wagging tails. Bingo was excited and affectionate, rubbing up against the gate in a full-body hello, but also overwhelmed. He showed his nerves in the form of overexcitement and inappropriate humping, which the girls wanted no part of. Melissa gave him a clear correction, and Bingo was lovingly redirected to his crate to decompress after a drink of water.

That first night was a long one. Foster Mom and the resident dogs all slept on the first floor to keep Bingo company. He whined and cried in his crate until Foster Mom asked Alexa to play some calming music, and it worked! Within 20–30 minutes, he was konked out. But around 2:30 a.m., the crying and barking began again. Foster Mom took him out, and he took full advantage of the opportunity to relieve himself. Poor guy must’ve been holding it for hours. Afterward, he struggled to settle back down, so no one got much sleep that night.

But that’s okay—first nights fostering are about patience, understanding, and helping dogs like Bingo feel safe in a whole new world.

Stay tuned as Bingo continues to adjust to his new surroundings. He’s sweet, affectionate, and eager to learn—and once he finds his footing, we know this lucky boy will shine!
