Black Labrador MixFoxy has now been with us for two full days, and I have to say, it has been so much fun getting to know this sweet, sassy, and mischievous little girl. She has quickly made herself right at home and keeps us smiling with her playful antics, curious nature, and endless enthusiasm.Black Labrador MixYesterday, we had family over for Sunday dinner, and Foxy completely captured everyone’s heart. It was wonderful to see how gentle she was with our 17-month-old granddaughter. While Foxy was playful and excited to have so many people around, she was also incredibly gentle and seemed to understand that she needed to be careful with her tiny new friend. Watching them interact was so sweet and gave us another glimpse into what a special little girl Foxy truly is.Black Labrador MixShe has made it very clear that her first choice would be snuggling on the couch with her people instead of sleeping in a crate! She doesn’t exactly love going into the crate at bedtime and will let us know about it, but after about 30 minutes, she eventually settles down and drifts off to sleep. We’ve also discovered that she seems to enjoy having lullaby music playing in the background, which helps her relax. The good news is that both nights she has slept for about six straight hours, and as an added bonus, her crate has been completely dry each morning! Bonus #2, Sunday night’s wild thunderstorms didn’t seem to affect her one bit.Black Labrador Mix Black Labrador MixToday, Foxy got to hang out with FD while FM went to work. FD tried his best to get her to go for a swim, but she wasn’t buying it. She decided that laying in the grass and soaking up some rays was more her speed.Black Labrador MixHer day ended with dinner, backyard zoomies and a little frozen treat.Black Labrador Mix

Foxy had her rescue ride from AR via the transport this morning. After saying goodbye to her sister Waynette, we started on our journey out of Giant’s territory (Bedminster, NJ) and back to where Eagles fly! She was a little whiny in the truck and about 10 minutes into the trip, we found out why. A quick stop for clean-up and we were back on the road again and Foxy settled in for a nap.Black Labrador MixWhen we arrived home, we were greeted by the next-door neighbor’s dog, who let out the biggest deepest bark that Foxy has ever heard. She retreated to under the truck, but with a little coaxing and head scratches, she came out to say Hello! Once the gate was closed and locked, we let her of her leash to roam and explore the backyard, which she seemed to enjoy.

She then decided to follow FD into the house to check out her new home. She found toys and a bone and happily played for about 20 minutes. Then it was time for a much-needed bath that she didn’t hate, but also didn’t enjoy. After a few shakes, she decided that sunbathing would be the best way to finish the drying process.Black Labrador MixBlack Labrador MixShe seemed to be hungry, so we thought we would try out a snuffle mat with some kibble and she didn’t have a hard time finding every piece. Her sniffing skills are “top notch”!

She also figured out very quickly that if you roll the Kong around, sometimes, you can be rewarded with a treat or two. She’s a really smart girl. She can also be a real chatterbox and let all the neighbors know that there is a new girl in town.

Stay tuned for more updates as we get to know this sweet and sassy girl!
