Angel #5 White Labrador Retriever Mix 2 Years Old ID #3218

Angel here! I’ve been living with these nice people and another dog for two weeks now. We also have had another black dog visiting with us for a few days. We all relaxed together and took walks to do our business. The lady always gets excited and says Good Girl when we do our potty 😉
The lady says I’m ready to find my forever home. Not sure what that means because this home is pretty great. I like a home that is calm and where there are lots of comfortable beds and couches for me to chill on.
I went to the vet this week and got a microchip. This will make sure that if I get lost, I am found. The nice doctor said that I must remain inactive in order to get better and that I need to start injections later this month in order to get all better.
I’m such a good girl. Everyone who meets me tells me how pretty I am and I roll over on my back and love when they pet my belly.
Stay tuned to see if we find my forever home 😉

Happy Sunday from Angel!
Angel has been with us a week. She certainly lives up to her name!
She is a dream dog. Walks great on a leash, rarely barks, sleeps soundly in her kennel at night and waits patiently to be let out which is around 6:00 AM.
She is calm and doesn’t know what toys are. She lives peacefully with Freda. They don’t interact with one another which is okay because she needs to limit activity due to her heartworm.
Angel hasn’t tackled the stairs again which again is okay due to her heartworm.
She loves to cuddle and to be next to you but she’s not a total Velcro dog. She will make a family very lucky to have her!

Angel has been up North
3.5 days and is transitioning well!
She received her care package yesterday and looks snazzy in her new bandanna.
She loves all people – loves to be pet and belly rubs.
Her injection phase of her heartworm treatment can begin after 6/29. She’d love to be in her forever home for this phase of treatment so please apply to adopt now or reach out to your Brookline volunteer as she will be posted for adoption after 6/15.

We are halfway thru day 3 of Angel’s arrival from Mississippi. This southern belle is so impressive and is adjusting to living in a home quite well.
She has not had one accident. She walks like a dream on a leash – either right next to me or a step behind. She does pancake to the floor when I go to harness her. It’s obvious that humans in her past life were not kind to her as she is very fearful. That being said, she follows me everywhere except hasn’t attempted the stairs yet. I’m okay with that as once she starts injections for heartworm treatment, she is supposed to limit stairs.
She sleeps well in the crate at night. She gives a tiny cry when she first settles and I let her know all is well. Freda sleeps on her bed next to her and I’m on the couch. She lies quietly in her kennel until I open it to let her out for our first slow walk of the day.
She’s a picky eater. She doesn’t like all treats. She will turn her nose up if it’s not her flavor. She’s only been eating about one meal a day and eats slowly and chews every bite.
Angel will make a family very happy! She is the sweetest, calmest young girl. And she is soooo pretty!

Meet sweet Angel! This super timid and adorable 2-year-old (approx.) white lab mix was transported from Philadelphia, Mississippi to Sea Isle City, NJ. I cannot fathom why but this petite girl was dumped on a highway. Jackie spotted her and lured her with roast chicken and Angel gladly abandoned the elements and became her foster in early April.
Angel lived in a comfy outside kennel and never soiled her kennel. She is heartworm positive and has already completed her oral round of therapy and has been spayed and is UTD on vaccines.
Angle was transported her from Clinton, NJ to me in Hammonton, NJ where we continued our journey to Sea Isle, NJ. She switched between the two comfy beds in the back and was a wonderful passenger. She didn’t make a peep.
Upon arrival in Sea Isle, we coaxed her out of the car and onto our deck. I moved the bed she chose and that became her safe space.
She drank a ton of water and ultimately eat her dinner.
We moved to the back deck and she moved with the bed and crashed. When it was time for bed, I moved the bed into the crate and in she went and slept through the night.
I slept on the couch to make sure all was well. I heard her stir at 5:45 AM and jumped up to take her out. She had not peed since 2:00 PM :(. Well, it wasn’t until 10:30 AM when she finally peed and earned cheers from foster mom. When she pooped a couple of hours later, she heard cheers again. No business since and no accidents so we will rack this up to decompressing.
She is adjusting well. Super smart girl saw Freda on the couch with me and quickly came over for pets and hopped up to lounge in the comfy couches.
I’m so impressed how quickly she is acclimating to life in a home.
