Baxter #5 Chocolate Labrador Retriever Male 5.75 Years Old ID#
This gentle, loving goofy boy has decided that the hustle and bustle of city life is not his cup of tea. Baxter has spent 5.5 years trying to navigate his noisy and often unpredictable environment, and has made it clear he much prefers woods and streams to cars and skateboards.
His Mom and Dad have listened, and selflessly know that he would be much happier in a country setting, so they decided to fulfill his dream by reaching out to Brookline to help find the perfect home for him.
This almost 6 year old (DOB 06/24/20), handsome and very well trained boy loves everyone he meets. Baxter is your typical Lab who loves food, treats and belly rubs! Splashing in streams is right up his alley and taking quiet walks and having lots of snuggle time is on the top of his bucket list. Baxter also loves kids and currently lives with an 18 month old who loves to go nose to nose with him. Baxter is very patient with the little one, and allows him to take food and toys away from him and lay on him.
Baxter is always ready for an adventure, and loves swimming in streams, playing fetch and tug of war with his people.
Baxter is a bit dog selective due to a bad experience in a dog park. Baxter prefers calmer, more laid back female dogs and small dogs are okay too! He does well off leash with other dogs and has been in play groups frequently through out his life, but is more on alert when on leash. His ideal home would have a fenced yard where he can run and play and not have to pass lots of dogs on leash daily.
He is crate trained, but reliable with free roam, and is a total cuddle bug. He walks nicely on a gentle leader and has quite a repertoire of commands he’ll happily demonstrate. He is very food motivated, so very trainable and wants to be with his people more than anything. He’d love cuddling in bed with you if you are up for it!
This total love bug is hoping to find a quiet home in the “country” where he can chill and soak up all of the belly rubs available!
Can you make Baxter’s dream come true? He’s ready and waiting for his chance to live his best life!
