Blanche had another great week.  She has been doing well with the potty training, only one accident this week!! She sleeps through the night like a champ too. She has also discovered the comfort of sitting on the carpet and the sofas and since she is doing so well with her potty training she is now allowed to lounge on soft surfaces.

Blanche ‘s sweet and outgoing personality is going to make her a perfect family member in the lucky forever home she goes to.

Blanche has adjusted to suburban life this week and has found the folks here to be just as friendly. She loves her walks around the neighborhood and is doing better every day on the leash and walking a little further.  She sits nicely when we meet people and is very patient while the humans chat. And often these visits result in receiving a belly rub because she is just so adorable.  She has loved everyone she has met.

We have learned that Blanche is very submissive when meeting neighbors’ dogs, she always rolls onto her back.

Blanche really enjoyed a visit from 2 little girls this week. She ran around with them until they were all tired out and then snuggled with them.

Blanch is starting to enjoy her soft dog bed and dog toys. She can entertain herself with her stuffies, and especially enjoys the ones that squeak.black Labrador Retriever Mix

Blanche is settling into a routine that starts around 7 00 am. She eats 3 times a day, breakfast, late lunch, and late dinner. She goes for a morning walk and a late afternoon walk and takes many potty trips to the yard.  Blanche is a bundle of puppy energy but does settle with Kong’s and toys. She takes 2 long naps a day, usually in her crate. Bedtime is between 10 and 11 depending on what is going on in the house and sleeps through (sometimes a little whining around 2:30 am) till morning in her crate.

Blanche continues to work on her dog skills and manners. She has mastered steps and is doing well with sit, down and come.

Blanche really enjoyed her holiday weekend at the beach.  She agrees that porch sitting is the best way to relax on a weekend.

Blanche enjoyed people-watching, pillow sitting, and especially porch napping. Her legs are so long and the way she folds them when she is sleeping reminds us of a kangaroo.black Labrador Retriever Mix

Blanche has also enjoyed sitting at the bottom of the front steps to watch the folks come and go down to the beach.  Her adorable personality and expressive eyes make it impossible to walk by her without saying hello.  She even got one guy to put down his beach chair and give her a belly rub.

When she is not outside enjoying the porch and people, she is working on her skills. Blanche has been working on steps, inside and outside, sitting and coming when called.  She is very food motivated so she is a quick learner and a hard worker. She is willing to “crate up “for bed and today she spent almost 2 hours in her crate while we were out. There still have been no accidents!

Blanche is an easy-going love bug.

Blanche arrived late last night after a long ride in transport from Mississippi.  She made the trip with her three sisters.  Two went straight to adopters, and Blanche and another sister went to Brookline fosters.

Blanche then had a road trip to the shore.  She arrived with tail wagging and puppy wiggling energy.

We ran her around the back yard and she sat patiently while I tried to read the puppy food instructions.black Labrador Retriever Mix

After her light late dinner, she quickly did her business outside and had some snuggle and belly rub time.

Then she spent the rest of the night in her crate in my bedroom from 11:30 pm to 6:00 am with only a few whimpers which quickly calmed as soon as she heard me talk to her.

Blanche started her day with an early breakfast, which she ate with lab speed, and then we headed off for an early morning beach walk.  She loved every person and dog she met along the way.

We all enjoyed a morning nap and then an afternoon walk with a family member’s dog. She did well on the leash and is very food motivated.  We are very proud to report Blanche has not had any accidents in the house

This petite girl has just been a perfect puppy so far. She is a curious and self-assured dog who loves toys, belly rubs, mealtime, people, and other dogs.  She is going to be a great addition to the lucky family who adopts her.
