Blueberry Chocolate Labrador Retriever Female 3 Months Old ID#3242
Blueberry and her six siblings arrived to Brookline from a breeding farm after the farmer was not able to sell them. Please read Blueberry’s blog from the bottom up to learn more about her time in foster care.

Blueberry continues to do very well. She is trying hard to make friends with resident dog, Harper (who seems to be tolerating her well). Blue likes to be attached to you and if a human is unavailable, she tries to snuggle next to Harper which sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. She has started to decompress, and we are seeing more of her personality. She is fun, feisty, extremely affectionate, and clingy.
We are currently working on her crate training. She does not sleep in her crate at night as she does so well in bed with a human (and we all need to sleep). We are putting her in for small periods of the day and making sure she can see us. We will slowly increase our time in there. She’s doing okay with going potty. She goes outside (for the most part, minus a poop in her dog bed) and once even barked at the door to go out! This is still a work in progress.
We are using a two hounds’ harness with their double clasped leash for leash training and so far, it’s going well! She will definitely need more leash training as by the looks of her paws she might be a large girl!
Blueberry has hazel eyes and a dark chocolate coat with some lighter brown around her ears. She is slowly healing from all the scrapes and bite marks all over her body. She is definitely going to make somebodies family complete!

We’ve had Blueberry for one night, and from what we can see she is a lovebug. She absolutely loves people; she tries to get next to you any second she can.She did not love her crate. She cried and howled for over an hour until we let her out and let her sleep-in bed. She slept from 10:00pm until 7:00am curled in a ball, sharing a pillow with a human. Can’t wait to see her personality come out over the next couple days. She’s very scared and unsure of everything right now, but she follows our lead very well.
