Bo Chocolate Labrador Retriever Male 5 Months Old

August 17, 2019

Chocolate Labrador RetrieverYesterday around 5:30 pm, Bo came to our house. He was very shy in meeting the 3 resident dogs (2 chocolate labs and a beagle). The dogs were excited to meet Bo and within the hour, everyone was in the backyard getting to know one another—sniffing butts and waging tails!

Bo went up and down the stairs on the outside deck, as expected, since it’s only 10 steps. He was reluctant to come into the house, but the puppy in him got the better of him! He doesn’t want to use the basement steps to go into the “man cave”, but that’s okay, as he is still exploring the “top floor” of our ranch style home.

Our adult daughter stopped by today (Saturday) to visit and take our one resident dog hiking and to her house for the night. When she came into the house to visit, Bo was very shy. He hid behind the male resident dog for most of the visit, with occasional appearances for a few scratches behind the ears.

Bo likes to chew and is a typical puppy, as he likes to steal socks! He found a rug which looked chewy and tried to nibble the corners. And speaking of corners— he can’t resist the coffee table! Although he is redirected to stay away from the coffee table and other household items, we don’t really mind as other dogs have already had a few chews on it!

Bo enjoyed playing in the 10 inch kiddie pool as he fetched the tennis ball. He is doing a great job exploring the backyard. He knows the yard is where he should do his business and has not had an accident in the house as of yet!

Meet Bo, one of a trio of 5 month male chocolate labs that Brookline got from a breeder who was not able to sell them.  But that’s GREAT news for Bo who Brookline will find a wonderful furever home once he gets a little manners work and he gets neutered.  Stay turned for updates from his foster.
