This handsome, approximately 2 year old pup is now ready to find his forever home.  He is super sweet and super affectionate, and love to play with his toys, go for walks, and take car rides.Black Labrador MixBrew Bear loves everyone he meets, and has been meeting a variety of dogs and doing well.  Since he hasn’t been in a home, he will need someone willing to work on house manners, but he does keep his kennel clean.  He is crate trained and does not seem to be destructive, as he sleeps with his blanket every night.  He is still working on not jumping when he is excited, and he does best on a Gentle Leader.  He is easy to walk but gets excited when he sees other dogs or leaves blowing in the wind!:)Black Labrador Mix Black Labrador Mix Black Labrador Mix

Brew Bear is recovering well from his neuter surgery. He also got his ears repacked. We have been practicing quiet walks on leash. He is really enjoying seeing all the birds, although he keeps wanting to chase them! We are trying to practice some quiet activities as he heals up.Black Labrador Mix Black Labrador Mix

Brew Bear met some more friends.  Brew Bear and Teddy had a great time playing.

He does really seem to like the ones he’s met so far, male and female. He met a little puppy through the fence too. He really wanted to play. I wanted to do as much as I could with other dogs this week since he gets neutered soon.Black Labrador Mix Black Labrador MixWhen Brew Bear finally met and played with the puppy , he was a superstar!

This is his last chance for doggie play for a couple of weeks once the neutering gets done.Black Labrador Mix Black Labrador Mix Black Labrador MixStay tuned to hear how Brew Bear does after surgery!

Brew Bear loves playing with toys! He’s so sweet and a bit silly!Black Labrador Mix Black Labrador Mix Black Labrador Mix Black Labrador MixBrew Bear got a bath this week and was a super star! The groomers’ dogs are in there and he enjoyed watching them pup around.

I also took him around to meet some easy-going dogs that were in their crates. He was very friendly and curious, wanting to sniff and say hello to each one. I have not had him play with any dogs yet because we are still getting to know him and want to make sure he feels comfortable.

Brew Bear likes to go between my legs so I can scratch his back. He’s a leaner too.

Brew Bear is doing great!  He’s so sweet and on the calm side.  He now has a bed and a blanket in his kennel run, and has not chewed either of them.  He got a treat filled kong too, which he loved!

He loves toys, but would rather play tug than fetch, so we will be practicing “drop it.”  We started practicing making trades for toys or treats.

Brew Bear is a 2 yr old lab mix that arrived at Kamp after being pulled from ACCT Philly just before his time stamp was up and he’d be euthanized for space.Brew BearHe just went to the vet today for a thorough exam, bloodwork, fecal, and treatment for his ear infections. He was a very good boy for them! He is incredibly sweet with people, although might be slightly shy at first. Even though he’s a big guy he’s very gentle and surprisingly good on leash.Brew BearThe shelter did some good work with him getting him used to going on walks and being around other dogs. They said that he’s dog selective and seems to react more when the other dog barks at him first. He prefers a slow introduction to other dogs. Going for a walk together is ideal.

He’s been very quiet and relaxed his run, and is enjoying getting to know us and all the smells in the yards. He loves playing with toys and chewing on them. He doesn’t seem overly interested in fetch at this time.  Stay tuned for more updates as we get to know this handsome boy.
