Casey, Chocolate Labrador Retriever, 9 Years Old

June 12, 2018

Casey continues to improve a little at a time. She is eating well and enjoying her treats, belly rubs, and her time with Katie and all the new friends she has been making in the neighborhood! She is now able to go up and down 2 steps independently (!!!) and is walking for longer periods of time. She still struggles to get up once she’s down but hopefully this will be her last major hurdle.
I took her for a nice longer walk today and she really enjoyed herself! She was able to walk for almost 20 minutes!! She has come so far! Hopefully, with 9 more PT sessions and some cold laser therapy for her joints, she will be ready and able to join a new family and bring them lots of love!

Casey is so very sweet! She ate all her dinner last night and breakfast this morning like a good girl! She slept quietly with the other 2 golden girls (Dorothy and Rose we’re calling them) but was reluctant for us to leave her to go up to bed. She cried and whined so my husband felt compelled to sleep on the couch to comfort her. She LOVES being with us and the kids and the other dogs. She often gets up on her own to find us in the house so she is moving  A LOT. Hopefully she will be getting stronger each day!
She loves her new toys and her new dog bed too!

Meet Sweet Casey!

Casey recently came to Brookline after being surrendered to the shelter after her owner of 9 years passed away.  She is so very loving and happily soaks up all of the attention she gets from her people.

She has some mobility issues to be addressed due to her recent Lyme’s diagnosis before becoming available but we are hopeful we can get her moving in no time so that she can find her forever family.  If you are looking for a true senior gal in your life, Casey is your girl so please follow her blog to check back on her progress!
