Charlotte Black Labrador Retriever Female 1.5 Years Old
April 24, 2019
Charlotte is a wonderful, female black Lab mix who is approximately 1 year old. She is sweet and playful! She loves everyone she meets and makes fast friends with other good-natured dogs. She loves to run and will fetch a stick or a ball for as long as you can stand it. She is a huge fan of playing tug of war but she can be hard on her toys. She also loves to chew antlers and marrow bones and wrestle with another dog. She’s had access to a kiddie pool and loves to lay in the water.
She responds well to a quick whistle and will turn on a dime but will need a little bit more work on leash training. She pulls like a champ and walks best on a front clip harness. She is crated when left unattended and goes in on command.
She will do best in a more rural setting as city life is just too cramped for her style. She has typical young Lab behaviors and needs an owner who has worked through the common issues that adolescent dogs exhibit. She needs an active family who can provide the level of exercise she requires, and any children in the home should be 5 years of age or older. Also, since she looks to the resident dog for guidance, her new family will need to have one or more resident dogs of a similar age/activity level. She is very interested in the cat in her foster home, but she has not tried to bite or hurt the cat. However, she may unintentionally hurt a cat due to her desire to play and chase.

Charlotte continues to do very well. She was having about one or two accidents a week for a while. She has begun to signal when she need to go out but we still keep a close eye on her as I think she is still a bit confused. She has had a face to face with our cats and was not aggressive, but she tries to entice the cats to play. We had her out side with us all day to day while we did yard work and tried to roam a little but came back when we called. She recently visited the vet and did great, no health issues! I do think she would do best with another dog close to her age as she loves to wrestle with Oakley.
March 26, 2019 Charlotte joined us yesterday afternoon and she is keeping us on our toes! She’s very energetic, playful and loving. She is fitting in well with our 3 dogs, we haven’t introduced her to the cat yet. She loves to wrestle with our younger dog, but her energy knows no bounds and Oakley (pictured) gets worn out. She hasn’t learned how to share-she wants whichever toy the other dog has. She loves tennis balls, sticks and biscuits.
She is VERY food motivated! She slept through the night in the crate-she isn’t thrilled about going into the crate, but once she’s in it, she settles down for awhile. She isn’t house broken, so we have to really keep on an eye on her. She’s a beautiful girl and very sweet. We think once she settles in, she’ll get
