Handsome is as handsome does!

Meet Chase, a 6-7 year old handsome black lab looking for his forever home.  Chase is an affectionate guy who likes to be with his person.  Chase is completely reliable free roam, is completely housetrained and loves to go for walks (and does well on the leash). Sounds like a catch to me!

Chase was originally found as a stray and taken in by a good Samaritan who would have loved to have kept him if she had a bigger home, since he did well with their resident dog and four kids. She couldn’t help but think that he had someone looking for him because he was in such good shape and he seemed to be looking for his family.  Alas, his owner could not be found.  Brookline took Chase in and fostered him (his foster almost flunked with him!), and placed him in a home a year and a half ago. Unfortunately this has proven not to be the right match.

Life is good!

While this family absolutely loves him, their busy and changing schedules seem to be making him anxious.   On top of that recently they have added a baby to their family, and now that the baby is crawling, Chase is even more nervous and has unfortunately growled at the baby.

So once again we’re looking for a wonderful home for Chase.   Now we know that he likely needs his family around more, and we’re certain he’s going to thrive with someone looking for a walking buddy and companion. And while Chase has been trained to an invisible fence, it’s probably not the best for him and would do better with a traditional fence. There’s no reason to think that Chase won’t do fine with another dog (or cat for

that matter) but we suggest it be an easy going one and one who won’t mind that Chase probably will prefer his people when given the choice. And given his recent experience it isn’t recommended that he live with little kids or babies.
