As this week’s weather is not looking too good, we decided since Sunday was a beautiful day, we would spent it outside on the deck with the dogs. Dexter can not go walking in the park due to his neutering so the deck is the next best thing! I do not think he minded one bit!

Dexter is feeling much better these days and definitely has his moments of playfulness. We take his cone off when we are around him to make sure he is behaving himself. Dexter is still loving the men in the family. He loves people but men are his favorite.

Black Labrador RetrieverDexter was neutered on Tuesday, overall he has done well. We had to adjust his medication as it was making him a sad sap. He was very lethargic, groggy and wasn’t eating or drinking a lot. He has to wear the dreaded cone for at least 10 days. Dexter does not like it but does not hate it as well. I do take the cone off when he is supervised and on leash. I do not want it to get infected as I want him to heal so he can find his forever home, really soon. Black Labrador Retriever Black Labrador Retriever Black Labrador RetrieverWith all the change in just over a week, Dexter is doing really good and is a very sweet dog. He gets along with my 3 resident dogs(has lived with little dogs as well), likes people a lot(men especially), is crate trained and loves to be outside on nice sunny days. He is going to make a family really happy.

Until next time!!

Dexter has been here for a week. Sunday was a relaxing day here for Dexter and the family. We all just hung out and worked outside. Dexter really enjoyed himself. Dexter loves being outside. I find him laying by the back door just soaking up the sun. Dexter’s previous owners had Dexter trained on an electric fence and I have traditional fence. Either would work for Dexter, he just likes to be outside a good amount of time.Black Labrador Retriever Black Labrador Retriever Black Labrador RetrieverHe does pretty good with my resident dogs but he does need correcting from time to time, either from the resident dogs or myself. He takes the correction well too. I do think he could live as an only dog or with a resident dog who will correct Dexter when needed. He loves people. He has lived with kids of all ages. He loves men especially.

Dexter is settling in nicely. He has been here 3 full days and each day gets better for him. I have taken introduction slowly with Dexter as I have 3 resident dogs. Two of my resident dogs are breeder mamas and the other is a male lab mix who needs extra time to warm up to new dogs. All and all it has gone smoothly. Dexter has been corrected by my breeder mamas as Dexter is an intact male. He definitely has listened to their correction, which is awesome. Dexter will be neutered in March and will be put up for adoption soon after.
Black Labrador Retriever Black Labrador Retriever Dexter had a busy day yesterday as he got a bath at our local pet store. He did GREAT! He just sat there, just taking it all in. I think he enjoyed that 1-1 time. He behaved himself in the store and checked out all the cool toys and bones. He got a sweet treat for being so good! Dexter is good in the car as well. Just sits there, no barking, whining or panting. Such an easy passenger. Black Labrador Retriever Black Labrador Retriever We came from from the pet store to find a welcome box for Dexter. It had treats, toys, balls, a blanket, a stuffed animal(which Dexter has not destroyed and really likes), a Flyer’s bowtie and much more. He loved it all. Black Labrador Retriever Black Labrador Retriever Black Labrador Retriever By the end of the night, Dexter just fell asleep on the kitchen floor. It was a busy day for him!Black Labrador Retriever

Hi, I’m Dexter! I was surrendered today with my buddy Coco. Coco went to another rescue as she is Bernese Mountain dog but I know she is in good hands! I am a bit sad to leave Coco but so far my new home is pretty cool.Black Labrador RetrieverI was able to check out the back yard and meet the other dogs in the house. I was on one side of the fence with a leash on and the other dogs on their side of the fence. I did pretty good for my 1st time meeting them. There is a video, check it out.

Hopefully soon I will get to hang out with my new fur friends without a fence in between us or a leash on me. Foster mom says I need a day or so to decompress before I get introduced properly. She is probably right, it’s been a long day.
Black Labrador Retriever Black Labrador RetrieverI have been to the vet and I enjoyed all the new people. I enjoy people a lot, they give me these yummy treats. I was a bit unsure of the other dogs but I listened to my foster mom and said I did pretty good. I am crate trained so I have been chilling in the crate. She even put down a comfy pad. I think I’m going to enjoy my time here. I like the backyard as well, its nice and big.

I just met my 15 year old girl human and I liked her. Now I am just waiting for the 9 year old boy human to get off the bus, I think he will like me as well. 😉

That’s all for now!
