Drake and Pumpkin, Yellow Labrador Retriever and Golden Retriever, both 3 years old

April 29, 2018

yellow labrador retriever golden retriever sittingMeet Drake and Pumpkin, the cutest bonded pair you’d ever want to meet. Their owner’s work schedule has changed from working from home full-time to six very long days away from home, and she knows these two dogs deserve better.  So she made the very tough decision to re-home them, and is counting on Brookline to find them the kind of home that these dogs are used to and deserve.yellow labrador retriever golden retriever red vests

Drake and Pumpkin used to be neighbors with Drake living next door.  The dogs were best buddies and when Drake’s owner’s living situation changed when Drake was about one, Pumpkin’s owner happily adopted him and they’ve been fur sibs ever since.

You couldn’t ask for a nicer pair of dogs.  They are house and crate-trained and walk well on leash.  They are good with all people they meet, love to play with dogs at the dog park, and even happily co-exist with the two resident cats.

yellow labrador retriever faceDrake, (the yellow lab) is Mr. Personality, and is equally happy playing fetch or snoozing at his owner’s feet.  And he loves, loves, loves kids and preferentially seeks them out.  His owner would love it if kids were a regular part of his new life.  This dog walks like a pro on the leash; all dogs could take a lesson from him.  And Drake makes the cutest faces and tries so hard to understand (check out his videos below).

golden retriever dandelionPumpkin (the golden retriever) is the more ladylike of the two and couldn’t be more sweet.  She’s Mama’s little girl but also loves playing tug with Drake too and going for walks.  She’s a little less reliable off leash when not actively playing and loves to explore, so she’d do best with a fenced yard.

Drake is 80 pounds of muscle where little Miss Pumpkin weighs in at about 60 pounds.  Both are fixed, up to date with vaccinations, in great health and 3.5 years old. These caped crusaders  will make some family very happy.  Might it be yours?
