Hi everyone!!
Happy Sunday. It’s Nelly here, with another update on my wonderful new life.
Things have been so fun for me, since getting my freedom ride. Yesterday marked 3 weeks since I have been on the other side, and let me tell you what! Life is so good. My foster mom has been teaching me some new tricks and I am have been enjoying my tests, as she likes to call them. I love being with foster mom, but I am totally fine, in my crate, when left alone. She leaves this “classical music” on something she calls an Alexa and that helps chill me out, while I patiently wait for her to return. She leaves me with this yummy pink thing, that she fills with treats and peanut butter, and that tastes so good!
I am now a pro at walking with my foster mom and yesterday, we did 3 straight miles together! It was a lot, but I can handle it. My mom loves when I do some skips, when on my walks. She calls them “cute,” whatever that means.
I have been playing with all the wonderful toys that Brookline got me and sometimes, when FM is working or doing something, I am totally okay with playing by myself, which makes FM happy. She even said she gets a kick out of Me; do you know what that means? I think it’s a good thing.
Last, the new test I passed was today. We traveled to Aunt Deb’s house, and met 2 other dogs. I was such a good girl; I was zooming around this backyard like I owned the place. Phoebe especially liked me and we were wrestling, running, and I even was following her around, as she seemed to know all about this thing called play. It was so fun, but whew, am I tired!
In fact, I’m gonna sign off for now, as I know my FM has my food for me soon— well, she better! All the play made me hungry.
Till next time, when you can read more of my adventures,
Nelly

Well, it’s been just about two weeks since sweet Nelly was saved from the shelter. I Happy to report that she’s doing wonderfully for these past two weeks. She was a very good girl at BCK over the weekend. When I picked her up late Monday afternoon, we had to readjust and get used to each other again. However, this week she’s done wonderfully. She’s walking much better on the leash and is doing better at not jumping up on people. She even met the HVAC man yesterday with a slow introduction. I had him meet her outside and gave him pieces of hotdog and they became best friends. She is protective of the house, so I just wanted to make sure things were gonna be OK.
She’s completely house trained and I’m happy to report that she is not had one accident the entire two weeks that she’s been here. I bought her some salmon oil to help with her dry skin and she looks gorgeous now. Miss Nelly is going to make a great companion for someone, someday as she’s a wonderful dog.
Yesterday she received her Brookline box and she loved everything.
Thank you so much to Brookline and everyone involved in creating and sending those boxes. Enjoy the photos and video!

My name is Ember and I was saved Saturday. Well, all Brookline dogs are saved, right?
Well, yes. But my story is a bit different. I was saved from a high kill shelter and my foster mom said something like it was just in time, as I was there almost 30 days and well, you probably understand what that means…… not good news for me!!
But while I was in this shelter, I met a nice lady who liked me. She kept coming back and telling me she was getting me out and Guess what?? She did!! She met with 2 nice ladies from Brookline who did something called an evaluation and they said I was good enough and labby enough to get my admission to FREEDOM! Do you know how much fun freedom is??? Oh, my goodness, has it been fun!!
One of the ladies who evaluated me came to meet my first rescue angel Saturday morning and bring me to my foster home. I was so excited to meet my foster mom!! She fell in love with me on first site. I’m a bit of a munchkin… the shelter has me at 20-30 pounds, but I’m probably 50 or so…
My foster mom gave me something called a bath and let me rest with her…then we came to this “boyfriends” house and I met some young folk. They are all so nice and love on me and I love that!! So far, freedom is grand!! I love to give kisses and get belly rubs…. And, I just love, love, love people.
Foster mom said she has some tasks for me, whatever that is. Yesterday, she took me walking and we worked on my walking with a leash.
I didn’t do too bad…. And then she got this green thing, called a ball or something, and guess what? I love to fetch it; and catch it!! Sometimes I can even bring it back, but that might be a more complex “task,” only time will tell.
Anyway, life on the outside is just amazing and I am loving this thing called freedom. Thank you to everyone, who helped me find my way.
Keep reading my blog for updates,
Ember
