Everest Yellow Labrador Retriever Female 7 Years Old ID #3527

January 5, 2025Yellow Labrador Retriever

Everest (Evie) is acclimating well to life away from the farm.  She is going on walks several times a day and we are increasing the distance as she lets us know she’s ready for longer walks.  She walks very well on a leash; a little weaving but not pulling.  She has been friendly but calm when she encounters other people or dogs. She is not super excited about going outside, but once out she enjoys her walks very much and remains accident free!!!

Yellow Labrador Retriever
We’re still getting to know her but here are some of her preferences:

  • She prefers to sleep on the couch much more than the crate
  • She loves to play fetch!  Always brings the ball back but not too crazy about giving it back
  • She ALWAYS carries something in her mouth during her walks- whether a ball or a stick or even a leaf
  • She’d much rather snuggle than run around the house
  • She seems to prefer people to other dogs.  Whenever she has been approached by people and dogs, she would rather be petted than run around with the other dogs
  • She never gets tired of love, attention and pets; she’s a total love bug

Our big priority is to get her to a healthy weight so she can enjoy running and playing safely, get spayed and work on basic commands.  Evie is super food motivated, so we’re using part of her meals (kibbles) as treats during training.

PLEASE NOTE: While this Lab may not be available for adoption by the time you complete the adoption process, other great Labs are always finding their way into our Rescue. (Note: Sometimes a foster home falls in love and adopts their foster dog so the dog doesn’t make it to “Available Now”).

If you need additional information about the adoption process or whether you are in our coverage area, please send an e-mail to our Rescue at info@brooklinelabrescue.org.
