Finn Black Labrador Retriever Male 2 Years Old ID 2775

2 year old black lab

May 29, 2020

Meet Finn, a 2 year old black lab who is looking for his furever home. Finn has a shiny coat, is in good health, is neutered and up to date with vaccines, and is on trim side at 55 pounds. Finn was very loved by his family but his single mom with two young boys worked long hours and didn’t have the setup to provide him with the lifestyle where he will thrive, so she asked for Brookline’s help. Finn adored his little people!

Finn is a happy, energetic boy who loves nothing more than running around and playing fetch and going for walks. He’ll be sure to help you shed any pounds the COVID-19 situation may have blessed you with. But he settles nicely with exercise and is always up for some cuddle time as well.

Finn is somewhat under socialized with dogs so he can be a bit off putting as he barks excitedly when he sees new dogs, but he is making great progress in his foster home. And once he gets to know a dog, he’s absolutely fine with them. He can play hard (and runs like the wind!) so that’s great if he has a like-minded dog to play with, but if the dog doesn’t want to play, Finn is learning to leave them alone. Finn goes over to his foster’s parents’ home where there are three labs that don’t have nearly the energy that he does. It takes him a minute to calm down, but eventually he slows down and happily coexists with his friends.

On walks, Finn loves to lunge at squirrels, rabbits, and other smaller friends, but quickly becomes frustrated when he realizes he is still attached to his leash. He’ll pull until they are out of eyesight. Otherwise, Finn is easy to walk, so long as it’s brisk. He is also a fantastic running partner. Also, giving him treats as a distraction does wonders when he wants to chase or play with another friend. He’s a smart boy who is eager to please. Practice makes perfect!

Finn has bonded strongly to his foster, as he did to his original family and we’re hoping that this will be this sweet guy’s last move. He’s going to make an awesome addition to the right family.
