Gemma & Shelby #2 Black & Chocolate Labrador Retrievers 9 & 11 Years Old ID#3268 & ID#3267

Chocolate Labrador Retriever, Black Labrador Retriever

Meet Gemma and Shelby.  These girls are a bonded pair who came to Brookline due to some unfortunate circumstances.  Their lives were turned upside down when their 91 year old owner passed away. A local woman was going over to the house to feed the dogs three times a day but they were alone in the house the rest of the time for two weeks as family did not live close by.  The family contacted Brookline to help.  These sweet girls are now in short term foster care and will be looking for a new home very soon.  Please read their blog from the bottom up.

Gemma and Shelby are now available for adoption: https://www.petfinder.com/dog/shelby-and-gemma-71176452/pa/warrington/brookline-labrador-rescue-pa06/

Today, Shelby had a vet visit so Brookline fosters, Frankie, Duke and Buddy kept Gemma company while her BFF was gone.

Gemma and Shelby are doing great! They are getting really comfortable here and they are showing how energetic two older, plump gals can be.

They’ve been having a great time exploring the yards, and playing with toys. Chocolate Labrador Retriever, Black Labrador RetrieverThey got to go to the vet today for a full physical and bloodwork and they were both very good girls!

Gemma and Shelby are both very sweet girls.  They are both a little shy, but are warming up to us quickly.  They had a wonderful time exploring today.

What a pleasure it was to meet these two absolutely awesome seniors – Shelby (Chocolate) and Gemma (Black).   They are two of the nicest dogs.  They were great in the car on the 1 ½ hour ride to connect with another volunteer, who drove them another 1 ½ hours to Kamp.Chocolate Labrador Retriever, Black Labrador RetrieverThey are so confused without their Dad who passed away, and so starved for attention from living in the house alone for the past 2 weeks.    If you meet them, they will  melt your heart.
