black labrador retriever mixGeorgie came into Brookline’s care on 11/26/2020 as part of  foster Nora’s litter when Nora started to give birth around 2am in her foster home early Thanksgiving day.  She was 1lb, 1oz on 11/28.  Please read her blog from the bottom up to learn more about her.

black labrador retriever mixGeorgie is now six weeks old and growing but not as quickly as everyone else!  She is lightest pup of the litter weighing in at 8.5 lbs.  The puppies are too big to weigh on the table top weigh scale so now I weigh them on a regular scale while I am holding them.  All the puppies got their dewormer on December 30, and have been doing well.  They get another dose next Wednesday, and will be going for their 8 week vaccinations on January 22.

She really seems to know her name and comes running when you call “Georgie!” Even though she is the smallest, she is a scrappy player, and always seems to be wrestling or chasing someone around the pen. Usually she is one of the last to go to sleep.  She likes her stuffies, their tags, balls, rope toys, and maple chew toy.

She also likes to steal toy and chews from the other pups.  If she thinks someone has something interesting, she runs over to investigate.

black labrador retriever mixGeorgie continues to be as sweet as ever.  Everyone likes to snuggle with this cute girl.  Georgie was quick to get up and walk, and play with toys.  She was also first to cut teeth. Georgie is very interactive with people and my resident dogs and Nora.  She runs right up to the gate and barks to get picked up.

black labrador retriever mixGeorgie will sit in the middle of puppy commotion and stare up at you, watching whats going on outside the box. When we were trying to take some cute, Christmas pictures, Georgie was more interested in exploring than sitting pretty for me.black labrador retriever mixblack labrador retriever mix

The first time I offered gruel, Georgie happily lapped it up.  She did the same thing when I first introduced plain water to the group.

Georgie likes to explore outside of the whelping box. Georgie was the first to navigate stepping over the lip of the whelping box to the “feeding” area. She preferred to hang out in there initially to get some peace and quiet away from her siblings until they figured out how to get out of the box themselves.

Georgie likes coming out of the puppy area and seeing what’s going on in the rest of the house.  She happily lays in everyones laps and watches what was going on and then contently falls asleep.

black labrador retriever mixGeorgie and Ace have a much softer and fluffier coat than the rest of the group and Nora.

black labrador retriever mixThis adorable pup was born very early morning Thanksgiving day (11/26/2020) to my foster Nora along with her four sisters and two brothers.  I’ll never forget their birthday since it is my birthday too! We decided we would name the pups from our favorite cartoon shows and movies. Georgette got her name from the poodle in Oliver and Company. Our Georgette embodies this spoiled pouch. Georgette is precocious. She has been the first to do everything from opening her eyes to walking.
