Jasmine #3 Black Labrador Retriever Female 7 Years Old ID #3207
November 27, 2023
Jasmine had a busy week and is really coming out of her shell. She finally discovered what a couch is and made herself comfortable.
She really enjoyed visiting family and friends on Thanksgiving. Jazzie is still figuring out how to get in a SUV but she rode well for the one hour trip. She was friendly with everyone and would walk around the room visiting everyone so she could receive maximum scratches. It took her a few minutes to warm up to a family member’s labradoodle but after a short walk together they got along just fine. We found out she likes raw carrots and broccoli. We also found out that if given the opportunity she will grab turkey out of the trash! She was gentle around kids and really was a wonderful house guest. Everyone was very impressed with her.
She is at the end of her heat cycle so will be available for adoption very soon!

Jasmine is doing great. She is very comfortable in the house and yard. Foster mom took her on a car ride and she didn’t know what to make of that. She needed help getting in but I think with practice and treats she will get the hang of it. She likes to go for walks but does need a gentle lead harness as she does tend to pull to get to all the new smells. Again, I think with more practice and training she will continue to improve and be an excellent walking partner. There will be more to report after Thanksgiving but Jazzie and foster mom are very thankful that she is in a home and a retired breeder mom!

Jasmine is doing great and settling into the routine. She had a couple of accidents in the house the first few days but hasn’t had any now that she knows the routine and is not as stressed.
She settles nicely in her crate when foster mom goes into work. She is a typical lab and loves her food so has been easy to train. She sits nicely when getting attention. She loves getting attention and pets.
Foster mom has started to give her free rein of the house when she is home and she has proven trustworthy. She loves to run and play with her plush toys. She will chew on her Nyla Bones when bored. She will carry around your socks and slippers but hasn’t chewed anything. She mostly wants to follow foster mom around.
Jazzy was set to be spayed next week but Mother Nature had other plans and she went into heat. Once she is done she will be available for adoption. She is a sweetheart!

Jazzy is getting more comfortable and getting used to living in a home. Foster mom headed out a few times and she is great in her crate. She doesn’t like being in it at night when she knows you are home but she sleeps through the night on her dog bed. She does like to get up early to get her breakfast so foster mom is trying to teach her patience! She is active and loves to run. She is just figuring out toys and loves what she got in her Brookline Welcome Package. She brings them into her crate with her. She will go in her crate on her own when relaxing.
Foster mom had some visitors and she was a little shy but warmed up quickly and was very friendly with everyone she met. She especially loved getting treats. Everyone commented on what a beautiful dog she is.

I picked up Jasmine yesterday, which was also her 7th birthday. She seems to have been well cared for and is up to date on her rabies and her monthly preventatives. Her world was turned upside down yesterday so she was understandably stressed. After she is a little more settled I will bring her to get the rest of her vaccinations and see how much she weighs. My guess is around 55-60 pounds. She is very petite!
She loves to run around my backyard and track the rabbits. She met a couple of neighbors through the fence and was very friendly from the start. She also loves to chase the tennis ball. Jazzie met my lab and wants to play but she has a little too much enthusiasm for my older lab.
Jazzie needs some work on her house manners. I think she would counter surf if given the opportunity. Jazzie needs to get used to the crate. She didn’t want to be in it last night so she slept next to my bed on a dog bed. Once she settled she slept through the night. I’m excited to see how she transforms as she gets more comfortable!
