Kaci Yellow Labrador Retriever Female 5 Years Old

April 7, 2019

Yellow Labrador Retriever sittinKaci is ready for her forever home.  Everyone who meets this special lady comments on what a gentle girl she is. Kaci is a happy, mellow girl who just loves to be with her people. She adores kids and gets along well with every dog she meets. For her, there is nothing better than a nice walk followed by a some snuggling and a nap. She is house trained, crate trained, and working on all of her basic commands. The perfect family for Kaci will need to be patient, first and foremost. The transition from farm-life to domestic life is no joke. Luckily, she’ll repay that patience with love and a lot of kisses.

Kaci was a champ through her spay procedure.  Now that she knows that her mommy days are a thing of the past, she is settling into lazy days filled with naps in the sun, walks in the park, and playing Uno with her foster sister. She doesn’t care if she wins or loses; she is just happy to be close to her people. Soon Kaci will be looking for a nice, quiet forever home to call her own.  She thrives on routine and is quite passionate about snuggle time. This girl gives the best hugs!

Kaci here. Boy have I been a busy lady.  Not to brag, but I have been a rock star lately.  I go into my crate on command, I signal at the door to go outside, and I even learned my name and how to sit.  The resident pup has really taken me under her wing and taught me lots of fun things to do.  We find sticks, run and even get the kids off the bus each day.  I always look to her to see what adventure is next; she is pretty wise for a one year old pup! Yellow Labrador Retriever laying down FM says I have really grown into a Velcro girl.  It is a lot of work, but I follow her wherever she goes so she never gets lonely.  I am headed for my spay surgery this week. No more puppies for this girl; I’ll stick to my stuffed animals from here on out.  Once I am all healed, it will be time to find my forever family.  Can’t wait!

yellow Labrador Retriever on sofa It has been an exciting week for Kaci.  She is growing more confident every day and learning all the fun she can have in the house.  Now that she has learned to use the steps, she loves to travel from one floor to the next bringing us her toys…or anything else she thinks we might like.  Last night as I ran on the treadmill in the basement, Kaci went up two flights to my room and brought me down the shirt I had worn to work. I couldn’t help but giggle because she was so gentle and proud of bringing FM a present. She doesn’t damage what she finds, just carries it around and will drop it when told.  She also hopped up on the couch for the first time this, though she wasn’t too sure what she was supposed to do on there. Kaci is still quite timid at times, so we are celebrating every little accomplishment. She is a bit of a mama’s girl, but she is growing more and more comfortable with FD each day, accepting hugs and taking cookies out of our hands.   She “hops” when she is happy and does a little spin…she has come so far in such a short time.

Welcome Kaci!

yellow Labrador Retriever laying down After five years on the farm and having lots of puppies, she is ready for the good life!   Her transition from farm to home has been incredible to watch. She has settled right in with our resident pup and just loves to cuddle with the kids. Kaci is a love bug!  She has been eating well and growing accustomed to her crate. She just loves to go for walks and really does a great job- she doesn’t pull; she is just happy to get out and explore. We are currently yellow Labrador Retriever laying downworking on signaling to go outside and getting up and down those pesky stairs. Sudden movements do startle her sometimes, but we are seeing improvements every day.  It won’t be long before she totally gets the hang of this new lifestyle! yellow Labrador Retriever in the snow
