Katrina #3 Silver Labrador Retriever Female 6 Years Old ID#3360

April 16, 2024

Katrina continues to do well figuring life off the farm and now in a home getting so much love! She had her staples removed from her spay last week and immediately wanted to go up to play with my sisters dogs. She hopped in the car and was ready to go! It took some major treats to get her into the back seat and reassure her we were on our way. Silver Labrador RetrieverThey played and chased and had so much fun!  Katrina is finally free to be a dog!

We went to Kendra Scott on Saturday and met lots of nice people and two great Brookline dogs.  The dogs did great together!  So fun meeting other volunteers.

The ride home was very quiet as Katrina was exhausted!

Katrina is with me wherever I go.  She never tires from running up and down the stairs.

This girl is as sweet and gentle as you can get.  She’s still learning to trust men and is slowly coming around.Silver Labrador RetrieverThere is a family out there waiting for her!

Greetings from Katrina!  She is doing great!  She goes back to the vet this week to have her staples removed from her spay – so far so good!

Katrina is the perfect house guest.  She is adjusting well to life in a home, walks, meeting new dogs and sleeping on a bed!

Katrina enjoys being anywhere FM is and follows her every move.  There are some noises that still startle Katrina but she is getting better day by day.Silver Labrador RetrieverShe loves riding in the car- whether it be short or long trips.

Katrina has not been crated.  She has free roam and there have been no concerns.  She has been left alone for up to 4 hours.

She did very well with grandchildren ages 2, 4 and 6.  She is not a big girl weighing in around 70 lbs.

Katrina loves carrying things around in her mouth.  She is so gentle it just must give her some comfort.   Nothing has ever been chewed.

She is such a good girl!Silver Labrador RetrieverShe enjoys her 2 walks a day.  This girl is a great walker on leash.  We use a martingale collar.  She loves sniffing!

Katrina enjoys being outside as long as FM is with her.  She will chase after a ball but not too good at dropping for another catch.

Look for Katrina to be posted as available soon!

Sweet beautiful Katrina spent her day yesterday at the vet.  She was spayed and everything went great.  I picked her up last night very groggy.  She slept through the night and this morning did her business outside.  Not much of an appetite but I’m sure by dinner she will want to eat.Silver Labrador RetrieverThis girl is one of the sweetest dogs! I know there is an amazing family out there waiting to make her a part of their family!

Katrina has settled in and is doing great!  She has been with us just over 2 weeks.

Thankfully she has mastered the stairs and goes up and down all day following FM wherever I go!

Katrina had a follow up at the vet last week for her UTI.  She is 100% healthy so we scheduled her spay for March 28.

Katrina is the sweetest most gentle dog.  She weighed in at 70 lbs last week at the vets office.  She is gentle and loves being close!

Katrina enjoys meeting everyone- both humans and dogs.  She had a fun time running and playing with my sisters two dogs.

Katrina is friendly to all dogs when we are walking.  She is a real lady on leash.Katrina enjoys carrying things around- can be shoes, toys, towels- whatever she finds.  Never any damage done just keeps them in her mouth.

Katrina knows how to chase a ball.  She does bring it back but still learning the leave it part. She has free roam and is a wonderful house guest!

Nothing but sweetness from this girl!

Thank you Brookline for Katrina’s wonderful goodie box!  It was full of so many treats and toys!

Silver Labrador Retriever

Katrina is just showing interest in carrying around things in her mouth- whether it be toys, shoes, or shirts.  No damage – just wants to carry them around.

Katrina is doing really well.  She is such a love bug!  She just wants to be close to FM – she is working up getting close to FD.  She is still frightened by loud noises and startled if I move too fast.  Day by day a little better.

Walks are a pleasure with Katrina.  We still use a freedom harness.  Katrina looks forward to 2 long walks a day.  She enjoys going outside in the fenced in yard.

Stairs are hard for Katrina to navigate.  Going up- not a problem- coming down is a different story.  She panicked and it took some time to get her down- one step at a time. Slow and steady.  It will take some practice but she’s a smart girl and should master the stairs soon

Katrina is a very good eater.  I bought her  a slow feeder bowl since she would just inhaler all her food- she doing much better with her new bowl.

Katrina is a special girl- so full of love and kisses!  She goes for her UTI check next week.  Fingers crossed she is a healthy girl!

Greetings from Katrina!  This happy girl is doing really well.  I tried getting some photos today and she smiled for the camera!Silver Labrador Retriever

Katrina has been a joy to have around.  She enjoys being loved on -something is probably missed for the first 6 years of her life.  Walks are enjoyed by both of us with the help of the freedom harness.  Katrina is still learning how to walk on a leash and is getting the hang of it.

Katrina has enjoyed sleeping on her dog bed.  Today she found the couch!  And she is loving it!Silver Labrador Retriever Silver Labrador Retriever

Next week she goes to the vet to check her UTI.  Hopefully her infection will be gone and she can look forward to her spay.

Katrina has been free from the farm for just over 24 hours and she’s doing great!  Still a little scared but overall adapting to the good life.  She is a little fearful of my husband but even that is getting a little better.

Last night Katrina found her spot next to the back door and stayed there all night until 7am.  Then it was outside for a bathroom break.  She seems to be doing better with the UTI- yesterday she was walking and going – today not so much.  She has tolerated her medicine well and it is helping her feel better.

Today Katrina was treated to a spa day!  She spent 2.5 hours getting the farm off of her!  She smells so much better and she looks like a beauty.Silver Labrador Retriever

Getting in and out of the car is still a challenge but she seems to be getting the hang of it.  Coming in and out of the house was not too bad but she still is somewhat hesitant.

This girl is beautiful and her personality matches her outside beauty.  She weighs in at about 75 lbs and could probably lose a few pounds.
The first 24 hours have been a success- looking forward to getting to know this girl as she settles in.
