Here she is sleeping in my lap as I write this update. 🥰

Leia is obedient and has excellent house manners. When we are gone, she is left with the run of the house and we have had no problems. Her personality is starting to shine through – she is so sweet and cuddly and loves to snuggle on the sofa with us. She is also curious, playful, and goofy. It is hard to believe she is 8 years old! Leia LOVES water and splashes in the baby pool every chance she gets. She is starting to play with the resident dogs more and more each day. Please enjoy the videos of her playing and splashing!

Leia has been friendly with all of the people and dogs she has met. She walks about 2 miles each morning and is getting better on leash but still walks underfoot so we are working on heel. She gets super excited when we get her leash out and is happy to walk alone or with one of the resident dogs. She also loves car rides and has very good car manners. Leia sleeps through the night on a mat in our bedroom.

Miss Leia was at the vet last week and tested negative for heartworm but positive for Lyme and Anaplasmosis. She is showing no symptoms and will be on a 28-day dose of Doxycycline but will have no long-term issues. She was also treated for a double ear infection, but has been back for a re-check and they are all cleared up.

Although the resident dogs will miss her terribly, Leia is ready to find her forever home. She will be a great addition to some lucky family! Stay tuned – I plan to post her by the end of the week.

Leia continues to do well.

She gets super excited for walks and enjoys sniffing all the new smells and meeting the neighbors. She pulls a little but not too bad with the easy walk harness. We will be working on heeling this week.

Leia is doing well in the house. No problems with accidents or getting into things that aren’t hers. She will bark when the resident dogs bark, but is generally pretty quiet.

Beautiful Princess Leia was surrendered to Brookline on Sunday due to a change within her family. She was a great car rider on the way to her foster home. She even fell asleep on foster mom’s lap for part of the ride.

Leia loved meeting the resident dogs and even ran around the yard a bit with them. She is very playful for an 8-year-old!  Here she is with resident dog Kota waiting for a treat.

After a good dinner, Leia spent some time relaxing on the sofa – she had an exhausting day!

Leia slept through the night on a mat in our bedroom. She is a great house guest and adjusting quickly to us and our home. She loves to snuggle with her people and is curious and confident with the other dogs. Today we discovered that she loves water.
