Lexi #6 ID 3458, Ginger #6 ID 3464 Labrador Retriever Females 3 Years Old

November 27, 2024

Hi everyone – Ginger here!

I wanted to introduce myself and my sister, Lexi. Wow, we had had quite a time the past 2 weeks. We are a matched set – which our humans call a bonded pair – and we came from a farm family that had finished breeding us.  We are looking for our forever home now! Some people get us confused but we can help you Lexi is a deep Chocolate color and I (Ginger) am a silver lab. We are very much sisters and love each other a lot but also, we are sisters- so you know, we can be annoying to one another.

Our foster family keeps saying we are such good girls and soooo sweet. Apparently, we have adjusted from being mostly outdoor dogs to being indoor dogs pretty easily. We have passed our potty-training & crate-training and have had 3 baths so far. Apparently, the humans said we were a little stinky. Lexi and I both know to sit and can come when our names are called (ok, most of the time). We are working on being calm in new situations; our foster mom and dad give us little treats when we have good behavior. Lexi likes treats- and I LOVE TREATS, like a lot. So, you know we both want to do the good behavior thing! Sometimes I get a little excited and want a cool new thing or yummy food and FM will sometimes separate me and my sister as I get a little bossy. Sometimes my sister pulls on the leash and our foster parents have to remind her that she is not a sled dog. We are working on these things for sure (and we like treats so we want to do a good job).

Our vet visit had us with a good report card – that made everyone happy. We heard that we need to get spayed and that we need to wait a little bit so we can get through something called heat. It is kinda chilly outside so I don’t know what they are talking about, but I guess we will find out.

Anyway- we are looking forward to giving our next update. Lexi will write next time.

Adopt Your New Best Friend!

PLEASE NOTE: While this Lab may not be available for adoption by the time you complete the adoption process, other great Labs are always finding their way into our Rescue. (Note: Sometimes a foster home falls in love and adopts their foster dog so the dog doesn’t make it to “Available Now”).

If you need additional information about the adoption process or whether you are in our coverage area, please send an e-mail to our Rescue at info@brooklinelabrescue.org.
