Marley Yellow Labrador Retriever Female 7 Years Old

July 13, 2019

Marley is such a happy girl. We laugh about how excited she gets when someone smiles at her! She had a great week hanging out by the pool and playing with her foster siblings.  She handled her vet visit like a champ- even taking a nap while she waited for the doctor to return. When her care package came from Brookline, she was happy to check out all of her new toys. Marley is disappointed that we won’t give her any table scraps, but we are working hard to get her back to her ideal weight. Fortunately, going for walks is her favorite!

Introducing Marley!

This sweet seven year old lady is just a joy to have around. She has been with us two days now, but you would think she has been here forever. She is quite grateful to be out of that noisy shelter!  Marley is the perfect roommate. She loves kids, seeking them out for cuddles and pets. She is great with other dogs. Our two resident pups are young and can be pretty rambunctious, but Marley just goes with the flow. She isn’t afraid to tell them she wants some space, but she also enjoys their company.  We have had no accidents. Marley is totally housebroken and will go to the door and let us know she needs to go out.

Last night Marley stayed in our room, not crated and she just curled up next to the bed and slept soundly.  Generally, if she is with her people, she is content.  We have found that she is not a big fan of being left behind. She did bark for a while when we left her indoors while we were at the pool, but eventually settled down.

Marley enjoys going for walks. She does pull a bit, but the harness makes a world of difference. We are looking forward to getting to know her even more.
