Misty #10 Silver Labrador Retriever Female 8 Years Old ID #2806

October 1, 2021

Misty continues to break out of her shell. She met my neighbor on day 1 and now runs over to him with tail wagging looking for scratches. She now isn’t a fan of the crate and would rather lounge on the couch.  Can you blame her!  So, she slept on the couch last night and didn’t move all night. Today was a big day because FM had to go into work. Misty did great home alone with resident dog and we went for a long walk when I got home. She walks great on a leash and hardly pulls.

Misty also conquered another set of stairs after many treats. FM may be a little too generous with the higher value treats as Misty is now not eating all her kibble. Misty loves treats and all the hugs and scratches she is getting.

Misty slept well in her crate and woke me with one bark around 6:30. I took her right out and she went to the bathroom right away. Smart girl seems to have her house training down. We went on a short walk today and Misty seemed to enjoy it but was very cautious which is to be expected since everything is so new. We will go on a longer walk tomorrow and will keep working on her getting used to the sounds and smells of the suburbs. We are still working on the stairs but she did discover the couch!  I came down from my office and she had made herself very comfortable.

Finally, we went to Pet Supplies to get her microchip. She received lots of pets while we waited in line. She is the sweetest thing and loved all the attention!chocolate labrador retriever

This sweet girl was delivered to me today. She is very timid but has made a lot progress for day 1.  She received a flea bath, which she hated, conquered the three steps leading in and out of my main floor, ate a full dinner, and has had no accidents in the house. It took some time but she finally drank water and went potty outside.  She is very food motivated but takes treats gently out of my hand. She and my resident dog seem to like each other.

I look forward to seeing the true Misty once she gets more comfortable.
