Mocha #8 Chocolate Labrador Retriever Mix Female 4 Months Old ID#2842
December 27, 2020
Mocha continues to thrive and settle in to living in a home with people who love her! She has only had one accident this week and is doing great with potty training. She absolutely loves going on walks and does great on the harness. She is a bugger though to come to get her harness on and like to play “catch me if you can!”
She loves to go up to every dog and person we see on our walks and engages the other dogs in playing! She tries to get resident lab to play but Izzy has no real interest in that but will let Mocha lay with her! She had her vet visit last week and the vet said she is doing great! She has taken to sleeping on the bed with us and loves to snuggle in! She does great in her crate when we leave. She loved meeting family over Christmas and does great riding in the car.
She is your typical puppy though, chewing on everything! But we redirect her and she listens well. She will be ready to be posted to find her forever family once Christmas break is over!

Sweet Mocha has been with us for a week now and settling in nicely. We have made some great progress with potty training too! She has only had a couple accidents over the last couple of days. We are going to introduce the bell on the door training tomorrow. She has learned to sit too. She sleeps all night in her crate and likes to snuggle in bed with FM after FD goes to work.
She went to get her microchip on Friday and did not like that at all! But she was happy to eat the cheese after it! They also weighed her and she was the smallest of the pups weighing 16 pounds and is now up to 14 pounds. She doesn’t miss a meal and likes to lick resident dogs bowl after she’s done just to make sure she didn’t miss anything. She got an antler to chew on because we are in the puppy chewing stage and she loves that! She like to follow resident dog and she is very tolerant of that. Mocha also played with a neighbor dog today and loved that.

Mocha is settling in nicely. She likes to be in foster mom’s office during the day and will nap in her crate with no issues. We are still working on potty training. We go out a lot and can be out for 20 minutes and sometimes come back in and within 5 minutes she has an accident in the house.
Same thing when we go for our walks! I am beginning to think that she doesn’t feel comfortable going while having a leash on! We are going to try a couple new things to see if they work! She does hold her bladder well though and only goes about 2-3 times a day.
She has met a couple neighborhood dogs and is a little scared to first meet them even when they are smaller than her! But we praise her and give her treats when she is meeting them! She sleeps all night in her crate in our bedroom! She is chewing some but is learning what “no” means! She also has been doing great with sit! She loves to snuggle up beside you and give you kisses! She is the sweetest pup and loves to follow resident dog, Izzy, around! We like to call them milk chocolate and dark chocolate!

Sweet Mocha arrived last evening and had a good first night! She slept all night in her crate and only fussed a couple minutes! She is definitely food driven and ate great today! I was worried that she didn’t pee last night or this morning but late morning she finally went! She went on a walk this morning and wasn’t thrilled with the leash so we switched out to a harness and she walked much better! We are working on potty training and Mocha won’t go outside yet! We were outside for 10-15 minutes each time and about 5 minutes after we come in she has an accident! So we will continue to work on that! She likes to play with her toys and tries to play with resident lab, Izzy, but she’s not really interested in the pup!
She really likes her walks too! She quickly caught on to the steps and is a pro now at going up and down! She spent the day in my home office and was a great co-worker being quiet while I was calls! She is also a snuggler and we gladly will oblige! Enjoy some pics of this sweet baby!
