Nellie, Yellow Labrador Retriever Female, 9 years old

Nellie

4/18/18

Nellie continues to be the sweetest girl ever. She loves to be near people and my dogs. She does well away from home with other dogs but when my friends bring their dogs to our house She gets a little protective of me.  She was spayed and had mammary mass removal and all went well. She has an appointment next week with a specialist regarding a lump on her leg. Hoping everything goes well next week and she will be available for adoption soon.

Yellow Labrador Retriever sitting with her tongue outYellow Labrador Retriever sitting on a tile floorThis 9 yr old yellow female came from an Amish farm. Nellie is very calm and such a sweet girl. She gets along well with my two labs and has adjusted very quickly and easily to our routine. She walks well on the leash and gets excited to go for a walk. Nellie responds to commands such as “come” , “sit”, “stay” – it is amazing how well she behaves for never having been trained. Nellie listens better than my resident female! She takes treats very gently and eats slowly. My two are your typical labs and inhale their food so I need to sit by Nellie and protect her while she eats, because she will let them come in and eat her food. She was Lyme positive but not showing any symptoms.  She is currently on doxycycline and is scheduled to be spayed soon. She truly is a “Mellow Yellow”! You can’t help but fall in love with this girl! Stay tuned for more updates.
