Newton Black Labrador Retriever Mix Male 2 Years Old ID #3187

February 1, 2023

Newton is doing great! He is a very mellow & calm dog.black Labrador Retriever mix

When inside he tends to just lounge or sleep. Newton really likes to go for walks & does great on the leash. The first couple times he saw squirrels he tried to chase them, but he has gotten better about ignoring them.

Newton does very well in his crate overnight & while I am at work. He is hesitant to go in at first, but once in the crate he settles & sleeps.

He has met a couple of dogs & has been great with all of them. Newton is also amazing with my cat. She had no interest in any of my other fosters & would hide if they came near her. However, she seems pretty comfortable with Newton.black Labrador Retriever mix

Newton is a very sweet dog & has been a great foster!

Newton did great in his crate overnight. He slept through the night, even ignoring my cat, who took it upon herself to test him by playing with her toys throughout the night. Newton really enjoyed our walk this morning & walked well on leash. He also was very cooperative for his bath. As his comfort level grows, more of his personality emerges. He played with a few stuffy toys, but overall, he was content just relaxing. I’ve been calling him Goldilocks because he keeps switching from laying on the couch, to his dog bed, and then to the cat bed, which is a tad small for him.

He is such a sweet boy & I look forward to seeing his personality blossom!

Newton is a sweetheart & has been great so far. It took him about 30 minutes to settle once we got to my house, but he’s been great since.Black Labrador Mix Newton has been pretty tired, probably due to transport so he mainly slept on the floor while I sat with him on the floor. He was much more interested in people food than dog food, but he did eat some of his dinner later on. Newton didn’t show any interest in toys, but it’s hard to tell what is his personality vs. him being tired from transport/adjusting to a new environment. I’m excited to see him come out of his shell!
