Obi Black Labrador Retriever Male Mix 1 Year Old ID #2955

March 7, 2023

Obi spent last Saturday morning on a mini adventure.  He received his canine influenza vaccine, and then got to go on walking sniffari with a BLRR volunteer. Obi loved all the personal attention and enjoyed belly rubs, as well as the exercise for his body and mind.

Obi is attentive, affectionate, and very treat/food motivated. Obi settles down after initial exuberance after exiting his kennel. He’s learning to walk nicely on leash and is persuaded to “check in” with praise and treats. He will make an excellent hiking partner! Obi is eager to please and loves kids and other dogs. His surrendering owner reported he was good with cats, too.

Obi is learning a lot at camp. He is learning how to control his excitement and plays well with his canine buddies in daycare. dogs He LOVES getting attention from people and wants his own family to spoil him and take him on active adventures so he can burn off some energy and use his brain. The trainer at camp reports Obi is learning how to walk nicely on leash: a work in progress, but he’s making progress!

Obi here!

I’m finally cough-free and happy to be back in daycare with my pals. I’m learning a lot each day, showing more moments of self-control and patience (and less zany puppy antics). I just get so excited when I see people and furry friends!!

My trainer thinks an active adopter will provide me with the best home. I may even have a future as a working job; I definitely like to keep my mind busy.

For now, I’m working hard on being a good boy and having fun with my BFF (best furry friend) Bruno.Yellow Labrador Retriever

Obi and Bruno are enjoying playing together out in the yard.

The trainer said Obi is coming along nicely – he’s a strong puller on leash, but improving every day. He still jumps up for attention, but that’s diminishing.

Bruno is still a little nervous with high-energy dogs and puppies, but getting more confident each day.

Both Obi and Bruno love getting attention from the staff and are wishing for their furever homes for Christmas.

He’s a very sweet boy who loves being petted and has perfected the Lab lean. His birthday is Christmas Eve (he’ll be 1 year old).
