Remy #5 Yellow Labrador Retriever Female 3 Years Old #3445
July 27, 2025
Remy is a wonderful girl and very entertaining, her facial expressions make me smile all the time. She’s very adaptable and gets along with everyone. She is an attention hog but she’s so cute you can’t resist giving her love. Remy has definitely bonded with my farm girl and Remy and my boy exist together but not bonding. We had a swim date with previous farm foster girl Tessa and Remy and Tessa immediately hit it off. I agree with Val, these girls are kindred spirits.
One of my friends visited yesterday and hasn’t seen Remy in a few weeks and she said Remy now has the beginning of an indent where her waste should be! We have been working on weight loss and will see what she weighs tomorrow when she goes to get spayed. We are also still working on her nibbling for attention. She’s definitely improved but if someone comes to visit and all 3 dogs go in to get petted, she will nibble to make sure she gets your attention.
Remy will be ready for her forever home once she’s healed from her surgery. She’s beautiful, sweet and funny and will be a great addition to any family.

Remy continues to be a wonderful and playful girl. This heat has made it difficult to get our normal walks in but we go out early morning and late evening because she loves to go for walks. She gets so excited and is the first one at the door when she knows we are heading out. A big accomplishment yesterday was that she has now mastered using the ramp in and out of the car. She previously would go up the ramp but coming down was not easy. She loves to go for car rides. Yesterday’s vet appt was in the afternoon so she was content laying in the back all the way there.
Everyone at the vet clinic loved her. They loved her big beautiful head and her very sweet personality.
Remy definitely loves being the center of attention and enjoys meeting everyone. She wanted to say Hi to a few dogs but I kept her close because not everyone wants to say hi especially at the vet because it can be stressful. Remy was not stressed at all; she couldn’t wait to get in the door and meet everyone. The weight loss is not going as well as I had hoped. She lost 1 lb., I was hoping for a couple at least. We will be starting her on a different prescription dog food, for weight loss and to improve joint mobility.
Remy received her goodie box last week. THANK YOU!! She’s not much into toys but she does love to chew on the benebones I always have here. There was a Nyla bone in the box and I thought she would take that right away but watch the video….very entertaining. She still hasn’t touched that bone.
This girl has a lot of personality and is such a character. She will fit in any home because she’s great with men, women, kids, dogs, cats…. She would probably prefer to be an only dog so she can get ALL of the attention but she doesn’t mind sharing if she has to. She doesn’t need a fenced yard because she will follow you everywhere.
Remy will be spayed in the next few weeks and will have x-rays of her elbows while sedated. The orthopedic consult outcome was that he didn’t think she needed surgery at this time. She started joint supplements and most importantly is the weight loss. She’s at 111lbs and should be about 80 lbs.

Remy has been with us for one week and she has fit in seamlessly. This beautiful girl just wants to be around people and be loved. Her tail never stops wagging if you talk to her or pet her. Remy is one happy girl despite her her apparent joint discomfort.
I no longer need to hand feed her or sit with her while she’s eating…she’s starting to do the lab dance when I’m heading to her feeding station with her dish. Remy has learned that dog beds are more comfortable than the floor and she’s started chewing on bones. It’s so good to see this girl enjoying these new experiences.
Remy and my breeder mom get along great, they lay together and hang together when outside. My younger male tries to get her to play tug but she hasn’t been interested in his nonsense. Hopefully when she loses weight she will be more playful. Remy is not a swimmer at this time, hoping that changes also because will be great exercise for her. I have taken her in the pool twice but she’s not happy about it and wants to go back to the steps right away. She does enjoy laying under the umbrella and hanging out by the pool with everyone.
Remy has an orthopedic consultation next week and we will see what are the next steps for getting this sweet girl on the path to a better life.

Remy is a beautiful 3yr old red fox female who was surrendered to rescue due to elbow dysplasia and could not be used for breeding.
This girl is very friendly and affectionate. She loves everyone she meets, 2 and 4 legged. Remy is very overweight (115lbs, should probably be 75-80 lbs) which is not helping her joints. She has been with us for a day and it seems like she has been here longer as she easily fell into the routine here.
Remy is housebroken, walks well on a leash with a little zig zagging, and knows some commands. She enjoys walks and gets very excited when I grab the leashes. Luckily the extreme heat broke today so we got several walks in. Remy is not a fan of swimming in the pool yet but we will continue to work on that as it would be great exercise for her and easy on her joints.
She is crate trained and sleeps all night without a sound. I have had to hand feed her because she will walk away from her food and my dogs will gladly eat theirs and hers. Remy was good for her pedicure today and very easy to look in ears, clean teeth and brush her. One thing we will need to work on is that she loves attention so much that she will play mouth you or pull on your clothes to get pets and sometimes she can pinch your skin with her teeth. She is totally being affectionate and not meaning any harm but not everyone may appreciate the nibbles. Remy will be scheduled to have an orthopedic consultation and we will see where we go from there.
