Riley Yellow Labrador Retriever Mix Female 9 Years Old

Yellow Labrador Retriever MixRiley is looking for an experienced foster or a foster to adopt family through Brookline Lab Rescue to help spring this playful senior from a kennel.

Riley is a 9-year-old, spayed Yellow Lab mix and is UTD with her vaccinations. She is extremely playful, smart and cuddly!

She was surrendered by a family that had one child and then adopted 3 more children, their ages are 3, 8, 11 & 13. She became overwhelmed with the increased activity in the home and displayed this increased anxiety negatively with the two youngest. Understandably, the family was concerned about her being around the younger children and asked Brookline to help her find a quieter environment.Yellow Labrador Retriever MixShe would do best as an only dog but previously lived with other dogs and did very well together but does require some time to warm up to new friends and slow introductions are needed. Generally, she will initially avoid other dogs and strangers, needing time to warm up to them. She does well with older children, but would be happier in an adult only home. She becomes unsettled with sudden movements so if there are children in the home, they should be older children who have been around dogs and will respect a dog’s space. Stairs can be a challenge for Riley and she is not a fan of cats.

She is currently in a kennel and not doing well in that environment. She is looking for a quiet household to live out her golden years peacefully where she will get all the attention and cuddles she is looking for! She needs a fenced yard.Yellow Labrador Retriever MixIf you can help Riley, please contact us at info@brooklinelabrescue.org

PLEASE NOTE: While this Lab may not be available for adoption by the time you complete the adoption process, other great Labs are always finding their way into our Rescue. (Note: Sometimes a foster home falls in love and adopts their foster dog so the dog doesn’t make it to “Available Now”).
