Rollie and Tootsie got an early morning surprise on our walk around the yard, a snow squall!!
This Southern duo didn’t seem to mind the white stuff and even had some fun eating the snow off the chair cushions!
and then the snow was gone…

Rollie has been with us for almost a week now, and is doing awesome! No accidents in the house, and he typically goes pee on demand though he does hold it longer than Tootsie sometimes. He runs right to me for a treat after he goes even if he’s way across the yard. He is a very smart boy, and super observant and watches everything that’s going on. He really takes note of where I’m going and what I’m doing and always not far behind me.
Both Rollie and Tootsie were very interested in what the lawn guy was doing yesterday!
Rollie loves to play fetch with his people with squeaky tennis balls and chase anything that you pull around on the ground. He is great at entertaining himself with toys, bones and other chews.
When I throw two tennis balls at the same time Rollie is super focused on getting the ball. Tootsie usually joins him once she sees him go. He always runs right back to the thrower for another turn unless Tootsie tackles him to steal the ball and then he just goes back and gets the other one.
Recently, if Tootsie grabs the ball Rollie is going for or there is only one ball, she waits for him on to chase her for it, and he’s been having a lot of fun chasing her to get it back. He has been interacting with Sammy alot more and really wants to be his friend. Rollie follows his lead especially if he hears a noise outside that he is concerned about. He will run right over to Sammy and plop right next to him as if to say, okay what do we do now. If Tootsie is being too annoying chasing and tackling him, he’ll run right over to me and stand between my legs so she can’t get him.
Tootsie and Rollie have also been having fun with Sammy’s tug toy. They will play for a while together running in tandem each with a handle in their mouth, and then stopping to tug. Whoever wins, takes off with the tug and a game of chase ensues. I love watching them play, and then cuddle together for a good nap after all the playtime.
Today, Tootsie and Rollie had their first shower. They did pretty good but I can’t say they loved it. They got a good towel rub, and then dressed them in some little sweaters to keep them warm. (My husband likes to keep the house on the chilly side.) They posed nicely for me and I gots some Christmas card worthy shots, LOL!
Tootsie and Rollie really enjoyed having my daughter and her boyfriend visit. Rollie was keeping himself warm while having a game of fetch. He’d run for the ball and then plop right down into her lap and wait for another toss.
We had a little photo shoot with with my daughter before they had to head back to Pittsburg. Everyone looked adorable in their warm jackets.
Tootsie and Rollie will be available very soon so be sure to get your applications in ASAP if you are looking to adopt!
Rollie is looking for an adopter that is home most of the time who loves snuggle time on the couch and gentle kisses and a good game of fetch. A confident, playful dog in the house to show him the ropes of his new home would be a plus as he really enjoys the company and playtime with Tootsie and Sammy.
A fenced yard is also a plus as he loves to play fetch, chase and explore and is only just learning to walk on a leash. Rollie is a very sweet and gentle boy who would be good with children of any age. Rollie loves to be around his people and sticks close to the other dogs in the house. He shares his toys really well, and prefers a game of chase when there is no tackling or ear biting involved.
Off leash, he comes when I call as he always knows there is a treat waiting for him. Rollie always sticks right behind me on our woods walks unless sees a flock of birds to investigate, or sees Tootsie run off to check out what she’s sniffing. He usually keeps an eye on where I am and comes running to me if I keep walking while Tootsie is still investigating.
Inside, he is content to play with toys and chew on bones and keeps himself busy for a while. Tootsie and Rollie have claimed the XL bed as their home base, and always bring any toy that interests them to that bed to play.
To keep them busy, I take all the toys and chews that they collect and move them off the bed and one by one, they bring them back happily chewing and squeaking on each one as they go. After playtime outside and inside periodically through the day, they always settle well in my office when I have work to do, or on the big bed if I’m in the kitchen.
Rollie has been easy to have in the house. He is an adorable, inquisitive fluffy eared boy who is super sweet and gentle with a happy, playful personality.

Rollie has settled right in and is doing fantastic with his potty training. So far no accidents in the house so I’m hoping this trend continues. Rollie can hold it for a while and only seems to go outside when he’s really ready. He also has picked a special spot to do all of his business.
Rollie is a gentle soul with big fluffy ears and a wavy coat. He was initially was more cautious about coming over to us and giving out kisses. He would wait for Tootsie to come to us and then he’d join her. Now he runs right to us and happily gets snuggles and kisses. Rollie continues to love to play fetch and will play chase with Tootsie. Mostly he’s the one being chased than doing the chasing. Rollie doesn’t mind the chase but is not a fan of the tackle. He would just prefer to run around chasing after balls and tugs and following around Tootsie.
Rollie loves playing with all sorts of toys, balls, tugs, stuffies, chew bones, and this weekend discovered that he is a big fan of marrow bones.
Rollie loves exploring, and has been loving flushing out the birds that like to hang around in the brush in the woods and also sniffing around for the field mice. He is very curious and inquisitive and checks out all the burrows he can find.
Rollie loves getting snuggles and cuddling with his peeps. Rollie met a lot of new people this weekend at our early family Thanksgiving celebration and was super friendly with everyone and went around to everyone for pets.
Rollie got a pedicure this weekend while snuggled in my lap. He was dozing through the whole process and didn’t seem to notice that I was clipping his nails.
Tootsie and Rollie don’t stray far from each other and play together nicely, and typically take their naps snuggled next to each other on one dog bed.
They are also good at sharing a lap and cuddles.
Rollie is a sweet and gentle boy and always lets Tootsie steal his toys or chews without a complaint. It was great to see him holding his own playing tug this weekend.
They got their first leash walk this weekend too. Rollie did a great job walking and mostly walked in a straight line instead of all over the place like Tootsie. Both of them were very brave in the park and had no problems passing other people or dogs.

Rolo who we have nicknamed, Rollie arrived on transport yesterday, Nov 7 with his friend Tootsie. They left their temporary foster home in Mississippi on Nov. 6 and were loaded up for the 24hr drive to PA.
Rolo was second to get off the transport bus and was happy to be reunited with Tootsie when he got in the car. He explored the toys I brought for the hour ride home and quickly chose a yummy chew and settled right down for the ride. They rode great and spent their time chewing on the treat for the whole ride.
They met resident dog Sammy and explored the yard when we got home.
I gave them a quick “Navy” bath and they were happy to romp around the yard to expend their puppy energy before we headed inside.
I put them in our XL crate together while we ate dinner, and they didn’t make a peep. The previous foster said that they were crate trained but I was happily surprised about how good they were in there.
After dinner, we played with some toys. Rollie was much more interested in playing fetch with the toys. Tootsie was happy just chasing him around with them.
After playtime, the pair was happy to settle down on the couch. They were both very interested in the TV and watched it for a bit before they drifted off to sleep.
Tootsie and Rollie hopped right in the crate with a toss of a couple of treats at bedtime, and again didn’t make a sound. I woke up at 12am so I figured I’d let them out for a potty break. They both did their business in the rain and easily went back into the crate and slept quietly until I took them out at 6am.
This morning I took them out on a woods walk and they did all their business and had fun exploring. They ate their breakfast,
and then we went back outside for some playtime, Rollie loves to play fetch with whatever is thrown for him.
Rollie tends to follow Tootsie lead, and was more shy initially. After a few kisses and scratches, and treats Rollie quickly felt comfortable. He was actually the first one to venture inside. Rollie is very toy oriented and is always ready to play some fetch.
He loves all kinds of toys, and he shares nicely with Tootsie. So far, no accidents in the house and as I write this they are entertaining themselves and settling well in my office.
So far so good! Stay tuned for more updates as each of their personalities start to shine!
