Roman #2 Silver Labrador Retriever Male 1 Year Old

Silver Labrador Retriever

Meet Roman!  This handsome 70lb one year old is looking for an experienced foster home.  Roman’s owner’s chronic illness is progressing quicker than expected and he can no longer provide the exercise and attention that this young boy needs.

The owner has had Roman since he was 4 months old.  He is playful and friendly and grew up around other dogs.  He is good with men and women that he knows but can be shy to strangers, especially men.  Roman has not had experience with children so we are recommending older children as he is young and energetic.

Roman is on free roam when someone is home but occasionally has periodic accidents so he will need reinforcement with potty training.  Roman is crated over night.  He likes the crate at night and goes in when asked.  He is only currently crated during the day for 1-2hrs for routine errands.

Roman goes on 2-3 short walks per day as he doesn’t currently have a fenced yard but he will need further leash training as can still pull if he catches a scent or sees something interesting passing by.

Roman loves car rides and does well at the vet. Roman is a big fan of all balls!

As Roman can be shy to strangers, and needs some brushing up on his good doggie manners (potty training, leash walking), we are looking for a foster that is experienced with shy dogs and will give Roman the time he needs to acclimate to a new foster home.  If you are interest in learning more about fostering  for Brookline and helping this handsome guy find his forever home, please contact info@brooklinelabrescue.org

PLEASE NOTE: While this Lab may not be available for adoption by the time you complete the adoption process, other great Labs are always finding their way into our Rescue. (Note: Sometimes a foster home falls in love and adopts their foster dog so the dog doesn’t make it to “Available Now”).

If you need additional information about the adoption process or whether you are in our coverage area, please send an e-mail to our Rescue at info@brooklinelabrescue.org.
