Rose #3 Chocolate Labrador Retriever Female 6 Years Old ID #3465

Hi Rose’s fans,
FM here. Rose is ready to find her forever home. This little peanut is doing so well. Rose knows lots of basic commands. She is sweet and loving. Rose loves men, women and kids. She seeks them out on our walks. Rose rides nicely in the car and walks well on leash. She is good with other dogs. I don’t think cats are in her future. I think she would chase them.
Rose would be better with bigger kids. She gets excited when you first come home and wants to jump. My fear is she could knock a little one over. She is really smart so I do think a patient family that would work with her could teach her how to be around little ones.
Rose needs a few things in her new home.
- Rose needs someone home most of the time. Her anxiety improves every time we go out. She doesn’t destroy anything but she is a little anxious when you come back. She needs someone to snuggle her so she can relax. The snuggle time is getting shorter. I see a vast improvement.
- Rose would love a fenced in yard but it is not a requirement.
- Rose needs someone patient to help her adjust to life off the farm. She has been off the farm for 3 weeks so she is learning how to navigate life off the farm with the freedom associated with it.
- Rose would enjoy the company of a resident dog. She just started to play chase with our dog. Again, this is not a requirement.
- Rose loves to snuggle so she would like a home where she would be allowed on the furniture.
Rose is very sweet and gentle. Her fur has many shades of chocolate with red highlights. She is small in size. Her last weight was 70lbs. She loves to go for walks and be with her people. She is a wonderful girl who will make a great friend

Hi Hi Hi Friends! It’s me Rose and I have big news to tell but first let me tell you about my week.
First, I went to this store and Oh My Dog it was filled with dog toys, food and treats. It was the best; I was sniffing everything and then I saw a lady walk by and had to run and say hi to her. I got to go back again today and I stole a treat. FM caught me but paid for it at the counter and gave it to me. It was yummy.
Then FM and FD went out without me. I was really nervous. They left me alone for a long time, days (FM said only 1.5 hrs.). I was really nervous but FM said I was a good girl. I only ripped up some paper. I needed some FM cuddles to feel better when she got home. Then she went out more but I am not as scared. FM says I am getting used to being with my friends Phoebe and Betty. I am learning that FM will come back.
What else, I can go up and down stairs now. All kinds. When FM left the other morning, I decided to climb the wood steps and see what was up there. Not much, pretty boring if you ask me. I did find the bathroom garbage and checked out the contents once I tipped it over. That was fun. So, I can go up and down stairs now. FM was surprised.
Also, I love to go for walks now. I stay right by FM side and walk perfectly unless a person walks by then it is my duty to say hello and introduce myself. I love everyone.
So here is my big news FM says I am ready to find my forever family. FM says I will be available to adopt on Sunday. Here’s what I want in my family.
I need constant snuggles and food.
I want to go for walks
I want to sleep and snuggle in bed with you.
I want you to take me to fun places and rub my belly and ears.
I want you to tell me how wonderful I am.
This is what I get with my FM except constant food but still I want that.
I am a really good girl and listen well. I am still learning the difference between dog toys and human things. I need help with that. I want someone that can be home with me. I get a little scared when my people leave.
If you can do those things then maybe we can be together. I would like that a lot.
Signed your friend
Rosie aka Rose

Hi Everybody,
Sorry I haven’t written in a for a bit. I had surgery and I needed to rest some.
I have been with my FM for almost 2 weeks and I am getting the hang of living in a house. I am completely potty trained and go to the door to signal. FM and FD are very impressed with how quickly I learn. I love sleeping with my foster parents so I want my new home to let me sleep with them and cuddle on the couch.
FM takes me on walks and says I am the best walker. She took a video to show you. I do like to stop and smell everything. There are so many new smells. I love to go for walks now. I am also a good passenger in the car. I like to ride shotgun but will also sit in the back if FM says so.
I have made friends with my roommates Phoebe and Betty. Betty and I like to sit on the couch with FM in the middle that way we both get attention. Phoebe keeps bringing toys to me so we can play but I am unsure. I do try to hump Phoebe but FM says we don’t hump our friends. So now I don’t do it because Phoebe is my friend. I love to run around the yard with Phoebe, she knows where all the good smells are. We actually caught a critter the other night. Foster dad told me to leave it. I went back to the house with Phoebe but Betty didn’t want to release the animal. But Phoebe and I were good girls.
Guess what you guys, I got a big box from the nice people at Brookline and it was filled with toys. Oh, My Dog, it was so much fun. I got to rip a few apart. I never knew how much fun having toys could be. I am hoping my new family will have toys for me too. I love to throw them around and shake them. So much fun!!!!
FM says I am doing so well. I still get nervous when she leaves me even if FD is around. FM is my person. If she goes to another room, I get scared because I don’t see her. I never lived anywhere that had rooms. I lived in a run with one room and my bestie Marci had the run right next to me. We never got to go in a house. FM says I am getting more comfortable and she said she can see some of my personality starting to show.
FM put all of my toys in the crate so if I want to get a toy I need to go into the crate. At first, I was scared but now it isn’t a big deal. Sometimes FM and I sit in the crate together or she gives me a cheesy Kong and I eat it in the crate. Foster mom said I am a brave girl. I am not afraid of thunderstorms or the vacuum.
FM says I will be ready to go to my new home soon. She said whoever gets me will hit the jackpot. I think she is right.
That’s all for now. Got to get my solid 18 hrs. of sleep. Move over Betty I am coming up to snoozle with you.

Foster mom is writing the blog, Rose is being spayed today so she can’t dictate.
It’s hard to believe Rose has only been here for 4 days. She is settling in nicely. I have taken her for 2 walks. She doesn’t pull at all unless she sees people. Then she trucks over to them to say hi. She loves people. We saw a boy riding his bike, her ears perked up and she wanted to meet him.
She does all her business outside, no accidents at all. I am really impressed she even began to signal by going to the door when she wants to go out.
She does well in the car. She either sits in the back or rides shot gun. She is nervous but it’s to be expected. She hasn’t had a lot if car rides in her 6 years.
She is an amazing snuggler. She loves to be close. She will put her head in my lap or against my chest. She is super sweet. She even asks for belly rubs which I happily supply.
Rose has also started playing with toys. She loves to shake the toy back and forth. This is probably the first time she has ever had a toy. She is beginning to chew bones but no clue about fetch. This is still amazing she is learning to be a dog. No more breeding for this sweet girl.
Rose is learning sit she knows no, leave it, and off. She is not reliable yet but we just started. She is very smart and picks up things fast. She wants to put her feet up on window sills and counters to see what is going on or what smells so good. She gets off when corrected. Can’t blame her for trying.
She has no trouble going up and down a few stairs. She went up the steps at the vet’s office this morning without issue. She isn’t ready to go up our 16 steps to come into the house. I think she will get there. After all it’s only been 4 days.
I am working with Rose on crate training. She hates it and panics in there. I started feeding her in the crate and putting toys in there. She goes in there to eat and get a toy. Baby steps right now. She gets nervous if you leave whether it’s 5 min or 2 hrs. She is not destructive; she wants to jump on me and she pants heavily when I come in. Again, it’s only been a short time living in a home.
It is understandable that she gets stressed when we go out. It’s a slow process making sure she knows we will come back.
Rose is going to be a great dog for someone. Stay tuned.

Hi Everyone,
It’s Rose! I just left my home on the farm and traveled with my bestie Marci. We met a really nice lady and her helpers. Both Marci and I got baths. It was horrible and all my good smelling fur is gone. My FM says I smell much better.
Then I went to the doctor and they gave me a bunch of pokes. It was horrible and even worse I got weighed. FM said I am a pretty good weight. I weigh 72 lbs. FM says I have good energy for a 6-year-old farm girl.
Then I went to check out my new digs. I met my 2 roommates Phoebe and Betty
I growled when Phoebe looked at me. It’s only because I am scared. FM tells me I will feel differently in a few days.
It’s nice and cool inside and FM boosted me up on the couch. She is rubbing my ears and I can’t stop groaning. But oh, my dog it feels so good. I keep showing her my belly and she is rubbing it. I could get used to this life.
I had my dinner and used the outside facilities like a good girl. Wednesday, I have a doctor’s appointment so I can’t have any more babies. I am ready for a nap. I need my solid 18.
Rosemary but you can call me Rose.
