Rosie #11 Chocolate Labrador Retriever Female 9 Years Old ID #2910

July 5, 2021

Rosie is an incredible sweet girl who has plenty of energy and enjoys playing in the yard and walks. But when it’s time to be inside she’s happy to relax at our feet while we’re working. She has had opportunities to be home alone for a few hours at a stretch and does well. And nothing can compare to the exuberant greetings Rosie gives when people return. Her whole back-end wiggles with happiness and her ear-to-ear smile in infectious. Because Rosie doesn’t seem to seek out her crate as a resting place, we have let her roam freely and she has had perfect indoor manners.

Rosie is seeking a family looking for an energetic mature adult dog. Rosie lived with cats in her last home, and while she expresses interest in squirrels and rabbits she moves on quickly. Rosie hasn’t had the chance to meet any children.

Today was our second full day with Rosie and she is starting to feel more comfortable. After having spent 9 years with her loving owner it was no surprise that she was anxious at first. Now she will sprawl out for a nice rest right by our feet. She has been enjoying time out in the yard and showing off how much spunk she has for a girl her age. She can chase a tennis ball like a youngster! Rosie can also remove the squeaker from any toy in moments with the precision of a surgeon. She is very food motivated but at the same time has wonderful manners. We have had some great walks around the neighborhood. She does get ahead of you on her leash but the pulling is very manageable and she seems either friendly or disinterested in passing dogs. She did want to say hi to a neighbor cat, but the cat didn’t feel like socializing so we just headed along on our walk.

We think Rosie is going to make a fantastic addition to a lucky family.

Welcome Rosie!

This sweet 76 lb girl has come to stay with us because her owner’s living situation changed and they could no longer have her live with them. It was incredibly hard for them to say goodbye but we gave them our heartfelt promise that Rosie would find a wonderful forever family.
