Sampson had another busy week.  On Monday he was back at the vet – this time to get neutered along with getting his microchip.  I’m happy to report he lost  two lbs so he is now down to 120 lbs.   He did great and was ready to come home late that afternoon.  We had some difficulty getting through the doorway with his big head and the cone!  Sampson was not a fan of the cone so we traded for an inflatable one and he was much happier.

After a few days of short, quiet walks, we were back out for a long walk this morning.  I saw my life flash before me as Sampson spotted a squirrel and thought he might want to chase it.  Thank goodness for the freedom harness!  Once again, it kept both of us safe!  He is a big, strong boy but so gentle and sweet.

Sampson has been left alone, and is the perfect house guest- nothing out of place and nothing destroyed.chocolate labrador retrieverSampson received his lick mat in the mail this week.  He has enjoyed it with peanut butter  – not so much a fan of pumpkin.

Sampson has another week to heal then he will go back to the vet for a check up.

Sampson continues to be a very sweet boy.  He does everything just right! chocolate labrador retrieverYesterday, he was left home alone with free roam for about 3 hours and was perfect!  Nothing touched, nothing out of place.  Walks are getting longer and he seems to enjoy them.  We have stayed away from bushes and shrubs for fear of him getting distracted and wanting to chase whatever is in there.  The freedom harness continues to keep us both safe!chocolate labrador retrieverBig day tomorrow for Sampson.  Another trip to the vet – this time to be neutered.  Just a week and a few days off the farm and so many positive changes.  He has found the bed and the couch!  Life is good!chocolate labrador retrieverEnjoy the pictures of this handsome gentle giant!  The smile says it all!

Good Morning!chocolate labrador retrieverSampson is eating very well – no surprise there since he is 122lbs!  We went out on our first walk last night. I had to get an Xlarge harness and a collar big enough to fit his neck.  He is very unsure walking some are taking it very slow.  Last night up to the corner and today just a little bit more.  He enjoys exploring the backyard but really prefers just laying around and getting belly rubs!

Today Samson is going for his much needed spa treatment.

He is a gentle giant- a big love.

More to come…..

Thanks Brookline for saving these sweet dogs from the farm- life is just beginning!

Stay tuned for more updates!
