We just herd back from the vet that Scarlett’s  lumps were NOT malignant.  We are very excited to hear this!  Her incision has healed nicely and her energy is picking up.  She is well on her way to recovery and would be a wonderful addition to any family or person who wants to adopt.  We think she would do well with older individuals because she does not pull on her lead or get overly excited, so she is easy to walk and does not require a tremendous amount of physical activity.  She would also do well with a family who have children, because she is mild mannered and trained.  She is a small Lab (about 65 pounds) and is motivated by attention and praise.

Scarlett went in last Tuesday to have several mammary lumps removed.  She is just the most wonderful dog, and is a trooper!  She’s making a very speedy recovery and we know she is anxious to start exercising and playing tennis ball again, but she’s not quite ready to do that yet.

Overall, she continues to be an absolute love!  She is everything that her original information said about her.  She is a snuggle bug and wants to be close to someone at all times.  She will follow you from room to room and then once you decide where you are sitting, she’ll cuddle right up.  She is wonderful about letting us know when she has to go out.

She has been quite picky about her dog food, but we think part of that is because of her two recent surgeries and having to recover.

She will bark when she hears the garage door open, but as soon as she knows who is coming into the house, he tail wags and she just follows that person around for pets and scratches.

She never begs for food.  In fact, she will often go into the other room during dinner time.

She listens very well and she just wants to be petted and praised.

We believe she will be an excellent addition to any type of family.  She is used to being around our son’s 9 month old lab.  Her records say that she is excellent with cats.  She’s completely housebroken and does not require a tremendous amount of physical activity; I think because she is older.  She really doesn’t pull on her lead, and is very quick to correct her course with a little tug on the lead.

Our goal continues to be to get her back to health and give her love and a good home until she is ready for adoption.   I will send more pics soon, once she is back to being active.  Right now, it’s a lot of laying down.
