Shadow #14 Black Labrador Retriever Mix Female 8 Years Old ID #3632
February 12, 2026
Shadow continues to do great in foster care as an only dog although she likes to say hi to doggy friends during her walks. Walks have been limited though because of the extreme cold so she has been getting more playtime indoors.
When she isn’t playing, she loves to be cozy and snugly on the couch.
She is definitely a couch potato but can get spurts of energy. Sometimes when she is very excited, she dances up and down with her back legs. She also loves to say hi by standing between your legs and getting pets
She has been doing well sleeping alone on her dog bed and will bark for attention if she needs to go outside for a potty break. She still doesn’t understand why the cats don’t want to play with her and are separated by a gate, they would be so fun to chase!

Shadow is back in foster after being returned due to not fault of her own. She immediately greeted us with a wiggly butt and wagging tail. Since she previously lived with another dog, we did not know how she would react to being the only dog in the home, but she seemed to enjoy all the extra attention! She settled right back into her routine and even seems a little more confident in herself. It was very cold this weekend so she spent a lot of time napping on the couch. We did go for a walk, and loved sniffing all the new paw prints. She isn’t a fan of walking on ice, but who is! We had some indoor playtime also since the backyard is mostly a sheet of ice and she enjoyed chasing her ball without another dog stealing the toy she wanted.
