Rollie and Tootsie got an early morning surprise on our walk around the yard, a snow squall!!
This Southern duo didn’t seem to mind the white stuff and even had some fun eating the snow off the chair cushions!
and then the snow was gone….

Tootsie has been with us for almost a week now, and is doing awesome! No accidents in the house, and she typically goes pee on demand. She runs right to me for a treat after she goes even if she’s way across the yard. She is a very smart girl, and super observant and watches everything that’s going on.
We had the lawn guy visit yesterday, and both Tootsie and Rolo were very interested.
She has really taken to playing with stuffy toys that squeak, as well as continuing to love her squeaky tennis balls. I’ve also discovered that she too loves to be chased. When I throw the tennis balls for them both, Tootsie grabs the one Rollie is going for and then eggs him on to chase her for it.
She also bounces around Sammy to get him to chase her. this morning, Tootsie and Sammy had a long game of chase. She’s learned that if she does a quick change of direction, he can’t catch her. This little girl is fast and agile!! Tootsie plays hard but then sleeps even harder. She is alway up for a good nap!
Tootsie and Rollie have also been having fun with Sammy’s tug toy. They will play for a while together running in tandem each with a handle in their mouth, and then stopping to tug. Whoever wins, takes off with the tug and a game of chase ensues. I love watching them play, and then cuddle together for a good nap after all the playtime.
Tootsie and Rolo really enjoyed having my daughter and her boyfriend visit. They looked adorable in their jackets on Tuesday when it was freezing out!

Today, Tootsie and Rollie had their first shower. They did pretty good but I can’t say they loved it. They got a good towel rub, and then dressed them in some little sweaters to keep them warm. (My husband likes to keep the house on the chilly side.) They posed nicely for me and I gots some Christmas card worthy shots, LOL!
Tootsie and Rollie will be available very soon so be sure to get your applications in ASAP if you are looking to adopt!
Tootsie is looking for an adopter that is home most of the time who loves snuggle time on the couch and lots of kisses. A confident, playful dog in the house to show her the ropes of her new home would be a plus as she really enjoys the company and playtime with Rollie and Sammy.
A fenced yard is also a plus as she loves to play chase, fetch and explore and is only just learning to walk on a leash. Tootsie is also learning that human skin isn’t as tough as a pups so she would do best with kids that are 12yrs+. Tootsie is very sweet and very people oriented. Off leash, she comes when I call as she always knows there is a treat waiting for her. She typically sticks right with me unless she catches the scent of a mouse in the wood, or sees a flock of birds to follow but then always comes running back to check in.
She has the cutest little pounce when she thinks she’s found something!
Inside, she is content to play with toys and chew on bones. Tootsie and Rollie have claimed the XL bed as their home base, and always bring any toy that interests them to that bed to play.
To keep them busy, I take all the toys and chews that they collect and move them off the bed and one by one, they bring them back happily chewing and squeaking on each one as they go. After playtime outside and inside periodically through the day, they always settle well in my office when I have work to do, or on the big bed if I’m in the kitchen.
Tootsie has been easy to have in the house. She is an adorable bundle of fun, energy, love and sweetness!

Tootsie has settled right in and is doing fantastic with her potty training. So far no accidents in the house so I’m hoping this trend continues.
Tootsie loves playing chase with Rollie. She is also more of a rough and tumble player and likes to chase Rollie down and tackle him. Rollie doesn’t mind the chase but is not a fan of the tackle. Tootsie had a run around with resident dog Sammy this weekend. The chaser became the chased, LOL.
She is now playing with all sorts of toys, and has discovered the joy of squeaking away on a stuffy.
Tootsie loves exploring, and has been loving flushing out the birds that like to hang around in the brush in the woods and also sniffing around for the field mice. She is very curious and observant of the world around her. She was watching a low flying plane this morning. She looked like she was thinking, “that’s a big bird!”
Tootsie loves snuggles and cuddling with her peeps. She met a lot of new people this weekend at our early family Thanksgiving celebration and was super friendly with everyone.
She’s so relaxed in a lap that she didn’t even notice when I was cutting her toenails.
Tootsie and Rollie don’t stray far from each other and play together nicely, and typically take their naps snuggled next to each other on one dog bed.
They are also good at sharing a lap and cuddles.
Tootsie is a bit of a stealer and likes to nudge Rollie out of the way so she can’t take what he’s got. He usually always lets Tootsie take his things without a complaint but she does not give up her toys and chews to Rollie with the same grace. They had a good time this weekend playing with a tug toy and running around together with it.
They got their first leash walk this weekend too. Tootsie followed her nose for most of the walk and had a great time smelling all the new sniffs at the park.

Tootsie and her friend Rolo, who we are calling Rollie arrived on transport yesterday, Nov 7. They left their temporary foster home in Mississippi on Nov. 6 and were loaded up for the 24hr drive to PA.
Tootsie was excited to get off the transport bus and did her business and jumped into the car to explore the toys I brought for the hour ride home. Both did really well on the ride home, and quietly sat chewing on the yummy treats I gave them for the ride.
They met resident dog Sammy and explored the yard when we got home.
I gave them a quick “Navy” bath and they were happy to romp around the yard to expend their puppy energy before we headed inside.
I put them in our XL crate together while we ate dinner, and they didn’t make a peep. The previous MS foster said that they were crate trained but I was happily surprised about how good they were in there.
After dinner, we played with some toys, mostly Tootsie chased Rolo when he had a toy, lol
and then the pair was happy to settle down on the couch. They were both very interested in the TV and watched it for a bit before they drifted off to sleep.
Tootsie and Rollie hopped right in the crate with a toss of a couple of treats at bedtime, and again didn’t make a sound. I woke up at 12am so I figured I’d let them out for a potty break. They both did their business in the rain and easily went back into the crate and slept quietly until I took them out at 6am.
This morning I took them out on a woods walk and they did all their business and had fun exploring.
They ate their breakfast, and then we went back outside for some playtime, Tootsie loves to play chase with Rollie.
She is a bundle of happy energy and loves to get attention. She folds into my lap for chest scratches and kisses.
Tootsie is a confident little girl and likes to chase after Rollie to see what he’s playing with.
She hasn’t really played with the stuffies but we found out that she loves squeaky tennis balls.
So far, no accidents in the house and as I write this they are entertaining themselves and settling well in my office.
So far so good! Stay tuned for more updates as each of their personalities start to shine!
