Trixie is doing very well, and she will soon be looking for her forever home. She’s excited to be the only resident dog in her new home, monopolizing all the love and cuddling, to set her up for the best chance of success. She is still cautious of the vinyl floors and greatly appreciates the added throw rugs. Trixie has not yet mastered a full flight of stairs, as that’s a pretty scary thing for a dog that has never gone up/down stairs. However, she has had some good, up close interactions with the two resident cats.Black Labrador MixTrixie has done some socialization, meeting new people, and experiencing new places. Black Labrador Mix She loves little kids and is always ready to curl up on the floor with anyone willing to shower her with attention.Black Labrador MixBlack Labrador MixAre you the family that’s looking for an adorable, sweetheart to add to your family?

Trixie has come so far in a week. The girl that wouldn’t leave ‘her spot’ in the living room the first few days now makes her way around the house. She’s still a bit unsure of the vinyl floor, but if she goes slow, she does ok. One day while FM was working from home, she heard a jingle and looked over to see Trixie sitting up on the couch looking like she was saying “Am I allowed?” That’s all it took and now she spends most of her time lying on the couch during the day. She’s also tried out the dog beds and even a human bed. She approves.Black Labrador Retriever Black Labrador Retriever Black Labrador RetrieverTrixie is the perfect walking companion. She doesn’t pull and is happy to go at whatever speed you set. It seems that she also just knew that business happens outside and has never had an accident in the house. She knows her name and comes when called. She’s quickly learning ‘no’ and ‘sit’ as well.Black Labrador RetrieverBlack Labrador RetrieverShe goes into the crate, albeit a bit hesitant now that she likes the couch and sleeps soundlessly all night. She doesn’t even mess up the blanket. And she’s mastered exiting the crate now, to everyone’s relief.Black Labrador RetrieverTrixie was recently spayed and is recovering nicely. She will need a bit more time to decompress and understand that she’s safe and loved. We’re all too happy to give her whatever she needs until she’s ready to find her forever home!Black Labrador RetrieverStay tuned as she continues to settle into life off the farm.Black Labrador Retriever

Trixie is settling into her new space, slowly. She’s much calmer when she’s outside, understandably so. She walks like a dream on leash with just a martingale collar.Black Labrador MixShe has done all her business outside and is eating and drinking well. She willingly walks into the crate when prompted. Although, coming out of the crate is a challenge. We’ll keep working on that.Black Labrador MixTrixie needs a few days to decompress. Stay tuned for more updates as we learn more about Trixie.
