Walter Black Labrador Retriever Mix Male 6 Months Old

October 2, 2019

Just a quick update on Walter the absolutely adorable 6 month old black lab mix. Walter is one of the sweetest and calmest puppies I have been around. He is extremely athletic and can jump so high when he gets excited. He loves to chase and go after swifters, towels, brooms, mops, etc. which can make it a bit difficult to clean.

He does have short bursts of high energy but he settles right back down really quickly. He does not really pull when he is on walks, but he does wander a lot on the leash which means you trip over him quite a bit on the walk.

Walter is such a love bug who just wants to be with his people as much as possible. He is underfoot a lot and probably one of the most Velcro dogs I have had. He loves to cuddle on the couch, in a chair, on the bed or wherever he can. He is great with my teenage kids and loves my three resident male dogs giving them kisses on the face which they don’t always appreciate even though I think it is super sweet.

He is scheduled to have his stitches removed from his laceration on his head on 10/7. Look for him to be made available for adoption soonBlack Labrador Retriever

6 month old black lab mixWell this handsome little sweetie has now been with us for five days and his personality keeps shining brighter and brighter. He got neutered yesterday and had his head laceration stitched up (you would never know it with his short bursts of energy). He is heart worm negative and now up to date on all of his shots. While he doesn’t know his name he does know the word “No”! And he loves to curl up on the couch and cuddle with his people. He also LOVES to eat. A lot! All in all this adorable guy is a mellow fella who would fit in to most any loving family.

6 month old black lab mix

Meet Walter aka Little Man!
Walter joined Brookline from ACCT Philly after being brought in by a finder who took him into his house then to the shelter after seeing some neighborhood kids beating on him.  Walter was so very frightened at the shelter and had a gaping wound on his head that needed attention.
Brookline was able to pull him and take him into foster care where he is coming out of his shell everyday now that he knows he is SAFE.
He is a petite 44 lb. lab mix estimated to be 6 months old who is simply adorable and so very sweet.  He LOVES kids and gets very excited to see them …his tail goes wild and he likes to give them lots of kisses.   He is currently living with two other large dogs in foster and doing well.
Here is what his foster mom has to say about him:
*quick learner – already knows “sit”
*walks well on a leash and does not pull at all
*no mouthy or jumpy like most puppies
*house-trained and has not had one accident in the home
*sleeps thru the night on a dog bed
*crated when left alone in the home
*rides very well in the car – lies down and doesn’t make a peep
*takes treats gently
*loves belly rubs (he is very submissive) and loves to give kisses
Walter will be getting his wound sutured and will also be neutered on 9/23.  Once he is healed, he will be ready for adoption!
