Adopt a Less-Adoptable Dog Week

September 16 @ 8:00 am - September 22 @ 11:30 pm

Adopt a Less-Adoptable Dog Week

September 16 to September 22 is “Adopt a Less-Adoptable Pet Week.” Reasons to consider a dog that may have been overlooked by other adopters include the following:

  1. They’ve Spent More Time in Rescue – Our dogs are in foster care with people who love and care for them, but it can’t compare to the love and care of a permanent home and their own family.
  2. It’s What’s on the Inside That Counts – You need to know the individual dog for their personality rather than judging a book by its cover.
  3. They Need a Loving Home After a Difficult Past – The reasons a dog hasn’t been adopted yet may be a result of a traumatic or difficult past. These dogs are the ones who need safe, loving homes the most!
  4. Your Family or Lifestyle Might Be a Good Fit – Some dogs may have behavioral or medical needs that require a certain type of lifestyle or family, and that could be you!
  5. Adopting Is Simply Great – Adopting has many benefits. You’ll provide a home for a dog in need and do your part to save more than one life because adopting from a rescue opens up space for another dog to enter the rescue.

If you’re looking for a wonderful family member, remember that one of these “special” dogs might be an ideal, loving family member who ends up being the perfect companion.
