Dog Bite Prevention Week
April 13 @ 12:30 am - April 19 @ 11:30 pm

April 13 to April 19 is National Dog Bite Prevention Week, a time focused on educating people about preventing dog bites. Did you know that 77% of dog bites happen with the family’s dog or a friend’s dog? Kids can sometimes be scary to dogs because they’re KIDS — more unpredictable, more unruly, more uncoordinated, and way more likely to get in a dog’s face than most adults. So, to keep them safe, it’s YOUR job to watch and listen. Dogs use their whole bodies to show you how they’re feeling. Help your children to understand what dogs are saying and teach them the most important skill: WHEN TO STAY AND WHEN TO WALK AWAY. If you keep pointing it out, over time it will just become second nature to them. Please watch and then share this video to help families protect their children and their dogs.
