National Pet ID Week

It’s estimated that one in three pets will become lost at some point in their lifetime and, tragically, some of these lost pets may never find their way home. Identification can mean the difference between life and death for your best friend. National Pet ID Week, taking place April 17- April 23, is an opportunity to ensure your pet is equipped with ID tags and/or microchips to maximize the chance of their safe return if they stray from home or are lost on vacation.
🔑 Why ID Matters:
- Quick Reunions: ID tags help neighbors return lost pets.
- Microchips: Permanent IDs that can’t be lost. Most shelters can scan them!
- Higher Chances of Return: Pets with IDs are more likely to get back home.
✅ Get Prepared:
- Check that ID tags are up-to-date.
- Consider microchipping your pet.
- Update microchip info if you’ve moved.
- Spread the word to fellow pet owners!
