Ben aka The Benster

My FM confirmed on Friday something I’ve been waiting to hear:  I am officially a permanent resident here and she is now my forever mom. Yippeee!
Apparently FM (now forever mom) has been telling people unofficially for a while that she would be flunking with me. I’m not sure why she thought I should be the last to know.  Mmm… maybe she was saving the best for last. That must be it!
As if that’s not enough good news for one weekend, I have some more to share:  I went to the ophthalmologist Friday for my re-evaluation in anticipation of surgery to fix my eyelids.  And I found out that the situation has corrected itself, and I do NOT need surgery!  My eyes are no longer so sunken back in their sockets, so the lids are no longer rolling in, and my bottom lids are only a little tiny bit droopy now.  The vet was quite surprised; she said it’s very unusual for this to happen.  And she was quite definite: no surgery is needed and she wouldn’t change anything. We will keep doing what we’re doing: Apoquel and benadryl and fish oil and glucosamine/chondroitin.  And of course my yummy food and treats.
So that’s my good news.  I think the only little cloud on my horizon is that I suspect Mom will renew her efforts to coax me upstairs. If she ever succeeds with that I will let you know. Don’t hold your breath.
And please don’t tell Cindy about my new status around here.  I don’t want her to feel slighted!
xoxo  Ben
