Koko

Koko came into our family on March 18, 2017 after a wonderful stay with a Brookline foster family.  She turned 9 on 06/23/2017. It has taken us a long time to submit her story because we are so touched by her that it is difficult to put into words what she means to our family. From the moment we saw her on Brookline’s Petfinder page we were in love with her. Koko has 7 feline siblings who all have accepted her lovingly. Our Sam and Houdini cats are particularly fond of her.
Koko loves her daily walks around the neighborhood. She looks forward to it all day. If mom is late she will remind her it’s walk time by tapping her with a paw. Koko also does the paw tap if she wants attention or to wake mom or dad up to go out if they sleep too late. Koko Has a friend across the street. Samson is a young and  very friendly  black lab/ beagle mix, and she enjoys his visits.
Koko is a princess, a lady, a mamas girl. Her manners are impeccable.  One couldn’t ask for a sweeter, nicer dog. She loves to lean into you with her head and of course, get hugged and kissed. Koko is diabetic and blind in one eye, but you would never know it. She is an absolute angel about getting her blood glucose checked and her insulin shot twice a day. She can fetch a tennis ball. Her favorite thing is a little stuffed cow that she sleeps with. If it gets late she will start carrying it around with her then bring it up to bed, hint – time to go bed! It’s the cutest thing.
Thank you Brookline for allowing Koko  to come be part of our family. And, please do consider an older dog with a special need (or two).
