Pasha Silver Labrador Retriever Male 2 Years Old ID#3667

Meet Pasha! Pasha is a beautiful pure bred two year old silver male.  This boy came to Brookline as an owner surrender.  His owner had to give him up due to some significant personal hardship, so now this sweet boy is in a Brookline foster home. Please read Pasha’s blog from the bottom up to learn more about him.

Yesterday was a busy day for Pasha!! The day started with a trip to the vet – Pasha was a hit with multiple techs wanting to take him home. Lots of compliments on his beautiful coat, pleasant disposition, and “excellent build.” He did NOT enjoy being taken back for his vaccines and microchip, and they recommended that in the future I may want to pick up some trazodone before an appointment to help him relax during procedures. In the evening, we went to my niece’s softball game. We may have been there as softball fans, but all the girls on the bench turned into Pasha fans! Pasha did want to sprint out on the field to get the ball a few times (hey, it’s not his fault they kept throwing it and not catching it…. They looked like they needed his help!) Many an 8 and under girl went home asking their parents if they could adopt Pasha last night.Pasha is a little jumpy and can be mouthy when he wants a treat, but he was very excited to meet the girls and loved getting pets and attention from them. I think he would do fine with dog savvy kids in the house. When we got home, Pasha was exhausted from all the attention, and just wanted to go to sleep… but foster brother Cooper was waiting to play! Pasha followed me upstairs to escape the madness, and enjoyed a nice long nap on the bedroom floor. It’s clear he is starting to feel comfortable here – he has found his voice and alert barks if someone comes up on the porch, and he is starting to take treats more readily. The humping and marking we were seeing on day 1 has completely stopped, and we are so impressed at what a good boy Pasha is. He really is a fun and easy dog that is just happy to be with his people and come along for the ride. He is looking forward to meeting more of his admiring fans tomorrow at Barktoberfest!! If you’d like to meet Pasha, he will be there from 1-3 and it will be a very fun day!!

Pasha has been settling in great, and keeping us all active and busy. He and Cooper are settling into a groove, and the playtime has become a most of the time  thing instead of an all of the time thing. We’ve been taking lots of walks around the neighborhood, and meeting lots of friends!Pasha Silver Labrador Retriever Male 2 Years Old ID#3667Walking 2 big strong boys is a lot for FM while FD is at work, so she has recruited some friends to join us on walks. Pasha seems to have excellent manners on leash no matter who is holding it, and has even bumped into some Brookline alumni walking the neighborhood. He had a great run in with silver lab Leia, who was adopted from Brookline a few years ago. Her mom ran out of the house to meet Pasha, because no one can resist saying hi to this fuzzy little bear cub.Pasha Silver Labrador Retriever Male 2 Years Old ID#3667Pash Pash seems to be unphased by most things – we have walked past squirrels, cats, kids in strollers, and dogs barking at the fence line or from across the street. Pasha barely notices any of it – he is really just focused on sniffing along the route. He’s proven he can handle the rowdiest of dogs and keep his cool – I will try to get him in closer contact with some kids and cats so we can learn a bit more about him.Pasha Silver Labrador Retriever Male 2 Years Old ID#3667Pasha craves affection and in addition to their usual sport, he and Cooper are participating in the attention Olympics. Their competitions include: who can curl up at my feet while I work, who can climb into my lap on the couch, competitive begging on either side while I prepare dinner, and generally who can get the most snuggles.Pasha Silver Labrador Retriever Male 2 Years Old ID#3667 Pasha is easy to love, and his adoptive family will be very lucky to have him.Pasha Silver Labrador Retriever Male 2 Years Old ID#3667

Yesterday afternoon in the pouring rain, I met Iris, Mike and Pasha to bring him home! Pasha was a bit nervous, but readily hopped in the car, laid down, and was an angel the whole drive.

When we brought him home he got a nice thorough brushing, which revealed his GORGEOUS coat. If anyone is looking for a second Pasha, I think we have enough fur to make another. He is so soft and a gorgeous silver with chocolatey tones. Pasha has quickly turned to ‘Pasta’ in our Italian home, but I think he is really just a little meatball.Pasha Silver Labrador Retriever Male 2 Years Old ID#3667Although Pasha had never lived with or spent time with another dog, he and Cooper are doing very well together. Cooper is extremely playful and wants to party 24/7, while Pasha’s interests currently seem a bit more… romantic. Once we get Pasha neutered, I think he will realize that he and Cooper are better off as just friends. They are both such gentle and friendly boys, so although they are driving each other crazy, it seems to be all in good spirits.Pasha Silver Labrador Retriever Male 2 Years Old ID#3667Pasha slept all night without a peep – we actually haven’t heard a single noise from him yet (other than some heavy breathing after zooming around). Pasha Silver Labrador Retriever Male 2 Years Old ID#3667He takes treats nicely, and has been eating most of his food (with Cooper staring at him drooling). Pasha Silver Labrador Retriever Male 2 Years Old ID#3667Now that the rain has stopped we took him on a nice long walk this morning, and he walked beautifully on a front clip harness. He definitely took his time to stop and sniff all the neighborhood news, but I assume as he gets used to the route he will be moving a little faster.Pasha Silver Labrador Retriever Male 2 Years Old ID#3667If you thought this excitement would tire these two boys out, fear not! Wes and I have been taking turns refereeing playtime between calls this morning while we work from home and the boys turn the house into a funplex.
