Carrie #2 Black Labrador Retriever Mix Female 3 Months Old ID #3792

Bandit and Carrie are 10-week-old Black Lab mix puppies (born 3/18/26) who made the long journey up from Arkansas this morning.  We met Kris in Lansdale to pick up Bandit, Carrie, and their brother, Cledus who will be fostered by another volunteer. Luckily for us (and not so lucky for Kris!), they all pooped in Kris’ car so, once loaded into our car, they were ready to settle down for a nap! 😉 Please read the blog from the bottom up.

Sweet little Carrie has been matched with a wonderful family and will soon leave us.  We have thoroughly enjoyed having Carrie and her brother, Bandit, spend time with us! Here are a few of the highlights of our time together.

Carrie and Bandit each got a very cool foster care package filled with toys, treats, and their very own blankets! They really enjoyed (literally) tearing into their boxes! 😉

Carrie’s favorite toy is her new strawberry!

Carrie was sad when Bandit left.  She had a few rough nights without her snuggle buddy.black lab mix

But she soon learned that she liked hanging out with the big dogs.

She also discovered that Lucy is a great snuggle buddy.

And so is FM.black lab mix

I think that Carrie knows that she is so darn cute she can get away with a lot. Just today, Carrie fell into the pool and we quickly scooped her out. She then ran right over to the chair I’d been sitting in and made her dripping-wet-self comfortable! What could I do but take a picture?! 😉black lab mix

We know that Carrie’s new family will fall in love with her as quickly as we did!  Have a great life, sweet girl! ❤black lab mix

Carrie went to the vet today for vaccinations. She weighed in at a whopping 14.6 pounds! Yes, she’s still a little peanut.  But that doesn’t stop her from wrestling with the big dogs!Labrador Retriever

We have family visiting this week. This gave us the opportunity to see what Carrie thinks of kids. She loves them! And the feeling was mutual! She was so sweet and gentle with the kids and enjoyed all the hugs they gave her.Labrador Retriever mix

Carrie would love a family with another dog and/or kids to play with. But we think she would be just as happy being the only “baby” and getting all the attention!

So, if you have room in your home and your heart for this sweet girl, submit your application today!Labrador Retriever mix

Bandit and Carrie continue to steal the hearts of everyone they meet.  We took them to the vet this week because Bandit had loose stools, Carrie had diarrhea and we saw worms in her stool. ☹

Everyone in the office made a fuss over them and gave them lots of love.

The pups had fun exploring the office and seeing what they could get into!

Unfortunately, Carrie tested positive for Giardia and Coccidia in addition to having worms. Bandit was negative for everything, but the vet recommends treating both pups to be on the safe side.

They continue play, play, play… and then crash!  We see many wrestling matches like this.

Followed by quiet moments like this!

They love to play with and hang out with the big dogs, too.

Carrie took a dip in the pool one day… unintentionally!  She put her front paws on the first step to take a drink… then she fell in! She swam until Mary scooped her out. She didn’t freak out, but she also had no interest in going in again!

Bandit is a great cuddle-bug. He will climb into my lap for snuggles. Carrie is the feisty one. Even though she is tiny compared to her brother (Carrie is now 12 pounds. Bandit is 18 pounds), she is the “boss”!  Bandit really wanted this bone.black lab mix

Here he is trying, unsuccessfully, to distract Carrie so he can steal the bone.

There may be some sibling rivalry, but these two are such good buddies.

I think they compete each day to see who can be the cutest pup.  I can’t tell who’s winning!

I think it’s a tie! ❤

When we got home, the pups explored the yard for a bit and got lots of snuggles and kisses.

Then they got to meet the BIG DOGS!Black Labrador Mix

Hi Lucy

As you can see, they were not intimidated by the big dogs in the least!

n the least!

The puppies found fun toys in the yard and shared very nicely. 😊

Soon Cledus’ foster mom arrived, and it was time for him to continue his journey to Delaware. Bandit and Carrie continued to romp in the yard for a bit, then happily ate their lunch before going inside for a nap.

After nap time, we headed out to the yard for more romping, playing, and snuggling!

Both Bandit and Carrie love to snuggle with people and will crawl right into your lap.

Hi There!  — Bandit

You can see how much we mind pups crawling into our laps!  🤪Black Labrador Mix

Especially when they fall asleep there… ❤ ❤Black Labrador Mix

Bandit and Carrie are incredibly sweet little pups.  Carrie is a peanut, weighing only 10 pounds compared to Bandit’s 16 pounds! But Carrie has a feisty attitude and didn’t hesitate to tell her brothers who’s boss!

Stay tuned for more updates on Bandit, Carrie, and the rest of the Smokey and the Bandit litter!
