Ginger #7 Yellow Labrador Retriever Female 3 Years Old

Yellow Labrador Retriever

Ginger is an adorable 3 year old, 68 lb, Red Fox Yellow purebred Labrador who is being surrendered by her owners due to a progressive medical condition in the family.  Unfortunately, Ginger isn’t getting the attention and exercise that she needs as her mom is very busy caring for her dad’s needs.  She really wants that for Ginger so she made the tough decision to rehome her.

Ginger is your typical friendly, loving, wiggly, energetic young Labrador who was well loved by her owners.

She grew up with a now 8 year old Labrador, who is a couch potato.  She is great with other dogs that she meets on walks and the neighbor’s dog at their old house.  She is unknown with cats but at her old home, the neighbor had a cat who was outside all the time while Ginger was on an electric fence and she never barked or chased the cat when she saw it outside.

Ginger loves everyone she meets and welcomes lots of pets, belly scratches, kisses and treats.

She knows her basics, sit, down and come but is still working on stay and off.

Though Ginger hasn’t really been around kids, she has a loving and friendly personality and loves to play and get loved on so I think she would do fine with kids of any age.  She is a big girl who loves to get close and does some excited air jumps so there is a knock down factor for parents to consider with kids under 5 years old.

Ginger was raised on an electric fence and did pretty well on it.  She did break the fence twice when she saw someone walking by with a dog so she might need some re-training if there is an electric fence at her new home.  She did not go through the e-fence for cats or deers however.  The owners feel she needs a fence of some kind as she likes her outdoor playtime and feel she is a flight risk in an unfenced yard.

Ginger currently goes for three 1-2 mile walks a day.  She walks well on a martingale collar and only tugs when she wants to go sniff a spot.  She settles very well in the house.

She loves to play fetch and tug and chew on squeaky toys.

She is crated overnight and only short periods (1-2hrs) occasionally during the day when they are doing errands.

Ginger is spay and heartworm negative.
